Maybe if the governments do opt to give them more money, the first thing that should be demanded, is public scutiny of their pay checks and other benefits, so we can all see what we are paying for. It would strike me as a cynical insult to tax payers whose money is being given to help them get out of the mess they have put us in, if it is they were still getting outrageous and attractive pay packets. People are being laid off to save money, it begs the question is the money being saved to enable the management to not take a cut in pay and living standards. My belief, and the way I would run an enterprise, is the management, the seniors etc, when times are hard, the cuts start with the highest paid, first go the perks, then wages cut to a level everyone else seems to be able to manage on, then the surplus labour cut before masses of people are laid off. That way, an upturn in economy, you have the workforce and the skills, with their contribution everything becomes better from the ground up. I am of the belief that a dedicated workforce is a companies biggest asset.
