I'm so glad Obama's trying to reach out to Muslims. It's very refreshing to see a US President takes steps like this. Bill Clinton already tried this approach; it didn't work. Obama can kiss up to these people all he wants. It isn't going to make any significant difference. I'm having mixed feelings about this move. I suppose it can't hurt, but I'm glad that he clarified that we back Israel and always will, as he reached out .. I think the best thing to do with President Obama is simply to watch him closely. Maybe over time, I'll feel more secure and comfortable with him. I don't know him right now and since I didn't vote for him, my confidence in him is wary and uncertain. Time will tell, I guess. I think most of us would agree that Obama reaching out to muslim moderates has always been a good thing. It continues work that other administrations have tried over the years in Iran, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Where he would go wrong, in my view, is if he initiated talks with the extremists in Iran withhout pre-conditions as he suggested during the primary. However, the campaign is over and now HE has the reponsibility. He is President and I'm also willing to give him time but watch him closely. My biggest concern at the moment is not Obama but Pelosi and Reid who represent the extreme example of the "Peter Principle".
