While I am not ready to nominate the Beatles or any other band the greatest ever (too subjective,I happen to like Led Zep,but thats just my opinion)the Beatles are easily the most influential rock band in history.As one earlier poster noted ,everything changed after Sgt.Pepper....nothing that came before could compare,nothing that came after wasn't in some way influenced by.

hehehheh when I feel sick, my nasty bitch sadist comes out, Im supressing her right now with countess silly, some nyquil and antibiotics. As for the original post... I prefer my pre beatles influences, eg jazzz, blues, new orleans ragtime etc, but the beatles are the most influential in the past 50 years in my humble opinion. Lucy

Seriously, name me another guitarist who has come up with as many riffs and hooks as George Harrison. From the fedback A that starts "I Feel Fine" to the opening lick of "Birthday", to the Sitar intro to "Norwegian Wood", nobody in Rock even comes close to his creativity. Ringo came up with some immortal fills, too. And the lyrics, man... "Eleanor Rigby died in a church and was buried along with her name... Nobody came..." who cannot relate to such sad tragedy? They were first, they did it all, and no other group can even touch them.
