Queen size beds are preferrable to king, simply because when you spread eagle someone, their wrists and ankles are much closer to the corners of the matress. I agree with the cheval mirror suggsetion... although I think a mirrored ceiling is a bit too tacky. I love beds that are very firm, since they give you some leverage, and their height should be just slightly below crotch level, to make penetration nice and deep and solidly levered against the floor. Lots and lots of huge throw pillows. Great for placing under hips, or leaning back against, or just to cushion the heavier thrusting or thrashing. They're comfy to sleep against too... Try some of the ones sold as doggie beds. They are surprisingly comfy, and can also be used for you sub/slave to sleep on the floor at your feet, if you are into that sort of thing. Color pallet is too much of a personal choice to give an opinion on, but I've found that warmer Earth tones tend to make a space feel much more welcoming, safe and comfortable... like you don't want to leave it, no matter what goes on there. Oh, and indirect lighting is a must... either candle sconces or stanchions, or at the very least something like shaded sconces. (Track lighting is fine, but make sure it's on a dimmer... and don't be shy about taping some theatrical gel onto them for special evenings... try a shade called "Rosco fire"... it does wonders for people with problem skin.) Art, too, is a personal choice. I took several jpeg files of my favorite Manning, Willie and Eneg art to a shop with an oversize laser printer, and paid for a set of poster size printouts on buff paper. Framed, they look spectacular. But your tastes might run more toward one sheets for movies like Story of O, 9 1/2 Weeks, or Secretary. The sky's the limit on this one. Let the art say something about your passions. The bedroom is YOUR space, and it should ultimately be an expression of who you are... after all, you will be spending 8 to 10 hours each day in it.
