i moved in here on october 9th, or something like that. i'm still not used to it. the train tracks that are a couple blocks away are quite busy at night, and with my desk facing away from the door, i feel like... weird... but i've got one of those rooms that you can only arrange one way, really-- due to the way my closet and such are set up. i'm an easily frightened person. i sleep just fine when my boyfriend is here... often we go to bed really early because it's the best night's sleep i get all week. when i'm home by myself, it's a combination of being online and being scared that keep me awake. i have a roomate, but they're never here. when they are here, they come in and out at the oddest times, which wakes me up wondering if i've locked the door or not-- or if someone has managed to unlock it. My bed settles-- which is the sound that freaks me out the most. The apartment itself, I'm pretty used to, because when I lived with my parents, we moved into a brand new house and it had all kinds of settling sounds all the time. It never bothered me. But when I lived completely on my own in my apartment a couple years ago, I wasn't bothered by anything-- maybe I was at the stage in my life where I thought I was invincible. I guess in that sense, being freaked out is part of growing up... -- Aileen-- it took me like 3 hours and several episodes of "Suite Life of Zack and Cody" to get that picture out of my head... and even then, the only light off in the house last night was the one in my room... MEANIE!!!
