A lot of american snack foods are actually poor replicas of the good stuff originating elsewhere.  i.e. M&Ms were a mass market copy of a French candy.

Things that are all american I can think of.

Pralines
Chukkar Cherries (chocolate covered dried cherries)
Fried Pork Rinds (best with a bottle of Dixie beer)
Blue Corn Chips (the blue corn is what makes it unique)
Chili (and not the Cincinati kind... chili with no chilis.. sacrilidge)
Moon Pies  (I think they are icky, but some like em)
Pecan Pie

Veggies in Marzzetti's ranch dip
pizza (is pizza a snack,its not really a main dish)
anything from Dairy Queen
Reese cups :D
Quesodilla (chicken or shrimp)

shortbread cookies. (especially ones that have a dab of raspberry jelly baked into the center.)

Pop rocks

Cheese curls (they have to be the kind that have oil stains on the bag, to indicate freshness)

...and the single greatest snack food that was ever invented in the universe: Igor Bars (See the Dork Tower website for the recipie.)
