I prefer to meet asap...as I don't have time to waste my time though my upcoming meeting I am involved now with since june...so it doesn't always work with preferrences in my case due to distance and time issues...

Normal for me, is within 2 weeks. However, there is a lot of phone conversations, emails and Yahoo chats going on within those two weeks.

It took Master and I 9 months, we did live in different countries though ...[:D] Since the time we met, we have never separated, not even for 1 night

I met  my Sir within i think one week - two weeks tops.  And it worked out very well for us.

If i ever need to again, i think faster is better than slower (or later).  I want real time, and why wait???

Let's see Time = Distance divided by Rate. Everything else is variable.

I think it is an interesting question about people's preferences, since there is no, nor should there be, hard and fast rule.  Personally I like to meet fairly quickly.  It's not a matter of looks, it's how a person carries herself, how comfortable they are in face to face conversation.  Internet is great, pictures are a tool, and phone is the next best thing to being there, but nothing replaces getting to know someone face to face.

9 emails back and forth, 5 Yahoo IM chats, 2 phone calls and finally a dinner meeting. Anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks if they are within 4 to 5 hours travel distance. But this is an average of my own personal experience.

I like to meet with in a couple days, if they are in the same state.  I have met some from other states with in a week.  For me it has more to do with measuring chemistry and potential than anything else.
 
I hate to wait, I have very little patience when it comes to getting what I want.

i met with a Dom that insisted on meeting within a couple of weeks.

my Master and i met within just a few days of linking up online.  So it is just a matter of how comfortable you are after talking and chatting with someone first.

First and foremost it depend on your comfort level.  But I just warn to not let it get too far before you meet.  Seems the longer people talk, the more you have these "theories" in their heads about how the other person will be, even on how they look (even though you exchanged pics you might still give a change here and there in your head...lol).  

So they have this whole "perfect" person in their heads when they meet, they make no mistakes, say and do the right things, then you meet them.  And even though the person could really be terrific, they could fall way short of your.....for lack of a better word...fantasy of them.

You'll know when it's right

"normal" meet by time? 

Is anyone here considered normal?  What is normal, and just who decides that, anyways?

As many others have said, 'normal' is when it feels comfortable to the two people involved.    After My boy and I met online, we began by chatting on Yahoo every day.  After a week, I allowed him to call Me.  We spoke almost every day after that, and continued our daily IM chats.  For hours.  After a few weeks of this, we knew we wanted to be together. 

He lived in Arizona, and I in Ohio.  Three weeks to the day after we first met online, he was on his way to Me.  But he had mechanical problems, and had to turn around.  Two weeks after that, he left again, and drove almost non-stop to reach Me.  He made it that time, and we have been together ever since. 

There is no 'normal' time frame that applies universally to everyone.  It's whatever works for ya.

I've met in less than a day, and in months.

Once you've decided you want to meet, a reasonable mature responsible adult shouldn't have an issue to make the trip in 6 weeks or less.

It's different for every one, I'll meet that very same day if we hit it off online, But normally I don't wait any longer than a week to meet in real life after meeting online. I don't believe in a long drawn out meeting period.

It all depends on the person.  I have met some really awesome friends  2-3 days after talking to them.  Master and I met real time 7 months after meeting online.
