MsterPBK, you asked for imput, you are getting input...whether you like all the input or not. You don't want negative input, don't ask for any. Simple really.

No, the profile is not impressive. It is informative but boring. Perhaps boring really IS your personality, I don't know. However, as others have said, there is no feel for the person you are. No sparkle, zip, zing. Just the facts. Facts are good, but add something positive and sparkling, something that makes you unique and desirable. Right now it's got more negative vibes that positive. Add some sprinkles and bling to tell people why you are special and a great person to be around. That sort of thing.

Just my input..........you can take it or leave it. Hell, you can snark it if it makes you feel better. No skin off my arse.

Well, I am not easily impressed, so I wouldn't call it impressive. Think it a good thing that you are standing up, even with the crutches you are standing up. Also that you are looking to actually DO something despite your condition. I try to avoid the word "Disability" because that is in the mind of the afflicted.

What comes through to me also is that you are the type who have learned not to get emotional about things, stoic might be a good word. I would agree with those who say it reads like a resume, but what else do you want ? I would almost prefer it that way.

Mentioning infirmities is being up front, as they no doubt will affect the whole deck of cards so to speak.

So all in all it's got the Termy approval. You could put more of yourself in it, but that's what the journal is for. I agree that what you have reads almost like a bulletted list of prerequisites for a job. It doesn't bother me, but I am not your intended audience.

Sometimes the communication must adapt a bit to the reciever.

So one of these days when you feel like ranting or rambling throw a couple of paragraphs in the journal.

I have gotten a lot of good feedback about my profile. Most seem to say It is "Impressive". May question is: Is my profile so impressive that it might feel "scary" to some?

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If it scares anyone away it won't be because it's 'impressive'.

I believe that might depend on what she wanted to do with it. For some things, it would be a larger target. Anytime I get out my weapons of mass destruction, the bigger the target the better.

Yes Mike it is possible, a cock can be too big.   But, send me a few pictures, including one with a measuring tape, and I'll talk with the other ladies about it, and together, we can give you a scientific answer.

I think at this moment I need to respond to this post directly and to say that critical reading skills are important in our society.

I see nothing requiring critical reading skills in your profile. Critical reading would be a thorough examination and interpretation of just about any well-written piece of literature.

While your profile is certainly well-written, it is not literature. I think the point people have been getting at is that your profile is, simply put, bland.

My profile has morphed over the years, but it has always given information about who I am and what goes on in my life. Now that I am married, it still gives information about me that potential friends might find interesting.

Think about the conversation that might take place between two people who just met. Think about the questions that would be asked. What would you want to know about someone that you might become good friends with? That kind of information is what people are most likely looking for.

The idea that critical reading skills would be necessary for you to consider somebody is another issue entirely.. the ability to read well is an indicator of intelligence, but it is not the only one.

I think it's fine. I dated men in wheelchairs for awhile and their common complaint was that people see the chair first before the man. So, if you think getting the disabilities out front screens out the prejudice, go for it.

Good luck with your boys and in your search.
