MstrPBK -> Is my profile TOO impressive? (12/1/2008 8:42:28 PM)

I have gotten a lot of good feedback about my profile. Most seem to say It is "Impressive". May question is: Is my profile so impressive that it might feel "scary" to some?

Seems fine to me. Honest and straightforward and provides encouragement for the reader to ask questions. Happy hunting!

It's fine.
I would personally put more of my personality into it, but what you have is...fine.

I think today is national obvious fishing day.

I wouldn't use the term "impressive", but I'm not what you're looking for, so maybe to them, it's impressive.  I just don't see a whole lot of "you" in it.  Reads more like a short resume.

nah...although, personally, i'd rather not hear about all of someone's physical problems, but thats just me.

It may be impressive for its honesty and ambitious goals, I suppose.   You may want to put in more of what makes you a kool catch, because it's not obvious to the passing reader, why you should get one or two slaves to do nasty things with/to.
Happy hunting,    M

I looked here as I was concerned with anyone  razzing this guy.

I talked to him for abit a few years ago.  He isnt new to CM.    Just thought I would mention it.  :-)

You can never be too impressive. Not a lot about what you like to do.
Physical capability is nowhere near as important as character.

pahunkboy -> RE: Is my profile TOO impressive? (12/2/2008 4:22:03 AM)

A profile should be positive and uplifting.  Alot of folks cant deal with physical disabilities.

Then there is the cross country factor.  IMO, a person who has anything going for them, isnt going to pick up and move cross country.   You might get further at plentyoffish.com or craigslist

Hint:  A sure way not to impress women is to claim that you are too impressive.  Lesson over.

DesFIP -> RE: Is my profile TOO impressive? (12/2/2008 6:52:55 AM)

Not impressive. Doesn't have any real info in it. You say you have a four page list of conventions but you don't describe what they cover, what it is you are looking for.

MstrPBK -> RE: Is my profile TOO impressive? (12/2/2008 8:45:27 AM)

I sat for an hour thinking about your comment that there was nothing "real" in my profile. IT bother me for many reasons. I could recite my thinking here but I suspect that it would not be worth my time.

I think at this moment I need to respond to this post directly and to say that critical reading skills are important in our society. Many times no-one will be around to help others follow the dots (as it were) and help others make sense as to what is seen or in this case read. For me a good slave does have some skill in critical thinking and reading. While this deserves a thread of its own: I also think it is worth saying that my life is not one fragment of information or other; it is the whole of the information.

On a another point: Just as a slave has to petition to serve a Master/Mistress and justify their worth to that person; it is my belief that the Master/Mistress should also have to justify their need for a slave. The document I refer to as the conventions covers those issues from myself to the slave. I wrote it because others were accusing me of not being consistent with my information; and that I can only put so much into a profile.

I thought your profile was very informative and to the point. You can not put every little detail in a profile, it would be way too long.

sub4hire -> RE: Is my profile TOO impressive? (12/2/2008 8:59:18 AM)

The profile would not impress me if I were looking.  Nor would I contact you.
Reason being, people here told you that there was none of you in your profile.  You attempted to remedy that by adding a list of likes.

"It would seem that I have omitted to tell more about my likes and so I offer an excerpt from my conventions for consideration:"

Well, clicking boxes is not telling the world who you are.  Why are you here?  Why do you feel like you are dominant?  What are you seeking?  Define what a slave and a sub is to you.  That way people know if they'd even fit.
What sort of person are you?  Anyone who has been in a relationship before knows it isn't all about play.  So, what are you really seeking?
Long term, short term..or just play partners?  Do you need someone to relocate or are you willing to?

Just a few of my questions if I were looking.  These would be at the top of my list.
Questions like, how does your MS affect your daily life I'd ask as we got to know one another.

Wow, that sounds like a thinly veiled insult.  We didn't read your profile carefully?  Or are you just upset that more of us aren't as impressed as you would like?

Other than a checklist of "likes", what do we know about you?

1.  You're disabled.
2.  You're gay.
3.  You prefer non-whites, but you'll give the white boys a shot (nice way to make them feel like like second-class citizens, by the way)
4.  You don't smoke, drink, or do drugs.

That's about it.  Is there anything about what makes you tick?  Is there anything about how you like to spend your free time (other than the dreaded checklist)?  Is there anything about your feelings? Your dreams (other than owning 2 slaves)?  Your desires?  Your goals?  ANYTHING???

I'm underwhelmed.
