Four hundred years from now the world will have gone through several revolutions, with the last one being worldwide.

After that technology advances, our cars are incredibly efficient. HVAC and humidity control will be easier, possibly more complex, but cheaper. There will be alot more air travel, and even spaceships. People will goon rides, possibly in suits to other planets. I choose not to guess whether we break the old E=MC^2 because I never believed it as interpreted.

Esprit d''Corp and morale that our volunteer army presently posseses will be destroyed by the radical principles of the 1960's that guide our new president.  Large numbers of the officer corps will probably take early retirement rather than be led by a Commander In Chief who has been against the military all of his public life.  The stock market will trade down another 30% plus as people rush out of stocks and into gold and other hard assets. 
Net, I don't see anything good happening for a few years.......the four horsemen are coming. 
P.S. The girls will get a labradoodle puppy.

In America, short term, you can expect the economic problems we have to pale before the one's we'll see in the next ten years. Not because of Obama, but because 80% of the foreclosures haven't happened yet. Credit will seize up, and we'll all be living like it's 1928 all over again.

I've always known that this would happen someday. That's why I've spent a good deal of my life preparing for it. I own my little home outright, as I do with my cars (which I know how to repair myself) I have wooded land which will allow me to heat my home in a pinch, and a garden that supplies me with everything but meat. (Luckily, the deer seem to like my land, and there are several good fishing spots within a short drive.)

It is my hope that things don't get that bad. I like having electricity, and being able to go to an ER, if needed.... but, as my Dad always taught me, "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."
