Status: offline 		I attended the Vendors and Artisans event at the Inner Sanctum in Pittsburgh yesterday.  It was the first time I ever attended a  BDSM themed event, and I loved it.  I bought some yummy items, and I even was given a demo flog (my back was still singing driving home! And that was with a sweatshirt on!) for the item I purchased.  Needless to say, I had a wonderful first time experience. I'm so looking forward to being able to have my work schedule allow me to attend the Burgher Munch, which organized the event as I understand. Kudos to you guys!!!

What was your first experience at a BDSM type of event, and how did it go for you?

Status: offline 		Mine was BBB nearly two years ago, i dressed up but was too scared to take my coat off for about an hour, then i got chatting to some people and i just felt so comfy, i met loads of people from all over the place and then had a fantastic time at the aftershow, no other event has ever quite lived up to that first one because it was like a whole new world, the freedom of it was wonderful

Status: offline 		It was a big event at 1763 in Atlanta and although the girl I was with at that time and I had both been into bdsm awhile we hadn't been to a public event. We were absolutely stunned in a good way. We became separated once and I saw her hypnotically transfixed watching a flogging demo with three women. It was a wild party with many activities going on and lots of personal play.

When we left the club and were walking to the car she said, "Don't look back or you will turn into a pillar of salt."

it was in July of this year - a local dom I'd been chatting with through this site offered to escort me to the local munch in Sunderland.  I went, I had a fantastic time, and I'm now a regular.  I've made some very good friends and have become a member of the local club in Newcastle as well as going to BBB last month. 

Now I'm in the local scene, I don't ever want to leave it.

Status: offline 		My first bdsm themed event was in Atlanta attending a meeting of some bdsm group whose name escapes me (perhaps they were called the Night Angels) at the now defunct Sanctuary in Atlanta. This would have been 1996-97. It was a rather small, local group we were thinking about joining. I think they were fairly new at the time. Most of the members were very nice and overall I enjoyed the few times we went. We went two or three times and the last time we went this domme I had seen at The Chamber who was sorta well known around town (and who was a real bitch) was there showing her clique-ish ass and that turned me off to public gatherings for about ten years.

Over the last few years I have attended larger munches at 1763 (the more well known dungeon space in town) as well at a very local munch on the west side of town. The local munch is a lot of fun and I've made several friends there. 1763 is ok. I make it out there once a year or so.

I fainted/threw up during the demo (it has since become a tradition that I faint/go weird colours at some point during every munch).  And did speed dating with people I was mildly intimidated by (courstey of a certain someone messing with my head).  And had the door staff demonstrate triggers/conditioning in an vain attempt to intimidate me.

I was also the only person not dressed all in black, I was in flowerly lacy see through-y ness.

That was my first BDSM type event.

I'd been "house something or other" at a swingers/fet place for 5 months prior to that.

Status: offline 		My first event was a munch. It was wonderful. There were so many great people there and lots of wonderful discussion. Sine then I've attended one other munch at two demo parties. I'm going to a third munch and a third demo party this coming week.

Status: offline 		My first event was a fetish party in a fetish-themes bar, owned by a former Domina, in Luxembourg. From then on I met all sorts of people, and eventually, at a party in that same bar, a Mistress that I developed a good friendship with, and that took me to a couple of clubs and munches. Now that I moved to the UK, I recently went to my first Cambridge much. It was a of fun, including the part where someone assaulted me with a knicker-filled gas-mask.

Status: offline 		My first event was In The Woods....a week long kinky camping trip.  What was so neat was that after the first few hours, all the kinky stuff seemed perfectly normal.  Midori was one of the lecturers and I love the way she makes a demonstration fun.  I saw and experienced needle play for the first time.  It was an eye opening and fun event.

Heh, since it was only a few months ago, yup.  I was more than a bit skittish and "on guard" not sure what sorts of freaks we might be meeting.  As it turned out, they were all pretty normal, at least on the outside.  But overall, it wasn't a positive experience.  I'm just not cut out for the "lets have some casual sex" crowd... more power to 'em, but it's not for me.

Status: offline 		My first event was the Leeds munch. I met loads of people, most who have become very good friends. I actually spent most of the afternoon in rope bondage, never shy at volunteering for stuff lol.

Status: offline 		I think the first thing I went to was the torture garden birthday ball in 2004. I really enjoyed it and went with some good friends although I didn't really meet anyone there. I think the first event as such would have been kinkfest in london the following year, although I didn't enjoy it at all, mainly because the girl I was with at the time hated it (and subsequently she decided she wasn't into fetishes or BDSM or much of anything anymore)

Status: offline 		My first event was a private play party held after a munch (my first munch).  I drove to the party, having no idea what to expect once I got there.  After taking some time to gather my courage, I went up to the door, but before I could knock I heard an earth shattering scream.    All my gathered courage fled, and so did I, right back to my car, scared half to death.  I stood there, leaning against mycar, trembling, wide-eyed and uncertain but determined to find out what was going on.  Still trembling, I walked back up to the door, but snuck a peek in the window first, before knocking.  Then I heard that scream again. It came from a cockatil that was in a cage in the next room.  I felt really silly, but had a great time at the party.

Status: offline 		my first experience was Lord Dan's 5th Wed. social in so cal. i was invited to attend with a Dominant and his slave. he had been around the community for a long while and  he was well known. he introduced me to everyone and i felt like i was home in some sense. he was into high protocol and i was fascinated watching his interaction with his slave and her interactions with the other attendees. she was not allowed to speak, but somehow she communicated very well with him...fascinating and watching her curtsey when greeting other Dominants is still fresh in my memory.
this was 7 years ago and i am still close to many i met that evening.
my first Dominant although he played in public thought it best for me to focus on my submission and service and not so much on the play aspects. it was a good year before i was allowed to attend a dungeon party...there will never be another dungeon party like my first one...my awe, the mystery, and excitement can not be reproduced.
 
however, i still have some firsts in my future...attending a public event as an owned slave, yes something to look forward to.
