i have a adversion to the sound of bull whips. this is not a phobia per se but from multiple deployments to the warzone, sounds too much like gunfire. i just avoid the whip room during that time. im a bit anxious on needles as im a nurse so im getting over that with the help of my M'Lady. as far as the bdsm helping with the problems iuts not as much the tupe of therapy but the therapy itselh that helps. being with someone you trust helps a great deal sometimes just gradual exposure will be enough, but some times more is needed to get past the fear.

It only made getting that needle cherry, all the sweeter.

What a nice SCARY thread for Halloween!  :)

...I'm with you Ivy....
As a toddler I was tied to a gurney while jabbed in the arms with needles. It took me into my twenties to get to where I didn't weep hysterically to get blood drawn, and into my thirties to deal with injections with a tranquil expression... but I still feel my blood pressure skyrocket and my heart slamming in my chest. It takes enormous will on my part to force myself to submit to it...

I've read of people's Masters successfully aiding them in overcoming such fears. An extreme phobia might require gradual habituation so no one goes into cardiac arrest... but trust + desire to please can overcome much.

One of my friends has a cat that faints every time the vacuum is cut on! Maybe cat needs a Master to help work through this?... volunteers?

When we play and have sex he will intentionally push the buttons that cause this anxiety, while also reminding me that I am safe and loved by him.  I am getting much better at seperating the fear caused by the past from my present.

Yes.. and I envision the day that you scream out... "RAPE ME BIG BOY!!!"

I have severe claustrophobia which also flows over onto a fear of being restrained in any way. So far, nothing tried has ever helped me to get past it.

My only phobia is being bound and left alone..even for a minute.
I haven't had the opportunity to work through it since the incident that caused it, but I know me and I know when I do have the chance it will be the first thing I'll want to work on.

I don't see anything irrational about having a fear of vomit.

It is basic human nature to avoid being around the ill or to want to be ill yourself.  Vomit in itself is a pretty good predictor that someone is sick.  We want to be around healthy people, choose a healthy mate, etc.  Many gag from seeing or even hearing others vomitting.

Unless, of course, you are a nurse.  In that case only fear would be is that you chose the wrong profession.

Can't say I have any fears (snakes, spiders, heights etc).  Maybe a tad germaphobe, but that again is instincual in avoiding illness.

That being said, your particular phobia, fear of vomiting. You said it has limited your participation in some activities. Honestly, in all my years I don't think I have ever seen anyone vomit from BDSM activities. Would you consider explaining what sorts of activities you are afraid of because of your phobia?

Don't know about her but giving head within three hours of a meal can cause it here. And skullfucking will cause severe gag reflex which can cause vomiting.
