I am serious, has anyone here heard or seen anything from
President Bush in the past few weeks or so?
I mean he is still officially President for the next 11 weeks or so.

The last time I heard from him was when he was on t.v. asking for
the public to support the bailout.

The economy is in a shambles and the situation in Afghanastan is getting worse.
I heard we need about 20,000 more troops in Afghanastan.
Officials: 20,000 Afghan troops needed - UPI.com

It seems to me that in these troubled times, we would actually see more of our
sitting President not less.
It sort of scares me because if we have not acting President, we might be so much

worse off in 11 weeks.

Did President Bush decide to check out early?
Is he in hiding?

Is President Bush on vacation until January?

Bush has been on TV a number of times over the past several weeks with respect to the financial crisis that is upermost in everyone's mind at the moment.  However, you mut have missed it and the media, for some reason, does not replay much of the Presidents converations to the nation.
I guess they are too wrapped up in the Obamanation thingy.....Just a few more days and we will get back to more normal TV fare...

He's effectively been on a vacation from Intelligence his entire life... why should things be any different now, when he's about to fade away into obscurity except as a bad example?

The best thing that President Bush did, was to get people to run out and vote for Senator Obama.
He has to be in the top 3 of the worse President's ever.

Can you name the other 2?

Thank you for the update corysub.
It is sort of sad that a sitting President is not
getting more television coverage.
Maybe he will come forward in the next few days to help
out Senator McCain.

You can catch Bush's weekly State of the Union on C-Span on Saturday's, MzMia. At least, that's when they're on in my time zone. Might want to check those local listings. Cheney.. another story. I haven't seen hide nor hair of him in ages.

::thanks God for small favors::

It's because they feel sorry for him.  Every time he says something, he sounds like an idiot.  Sometimes people have sunk so low, it's no fun to kick them when they're down.  Of course, I'm a sadist, so I have no problem with that.

I am sure I saw him on television sometime in the last few days. I haven't a clue what he said. It seems I have this involuntary reaction when I see him. My eyes glaze over and my hands want to cover my ears while I say "lalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaa........"

I must say that I tend to fight a similar reaction when I see John McCain's face pop up.

No, someone gave him a coloring book and told him to sit in the corner and stay out of the way.

Hi...I'm joining this thread late.  Are we talking about Joe Biden now?  I agree...Joe is wrapped in saran wrap
and locked in his room with a ball gag in his mouth. Between him and Murtha..probably cost Obama my state
of Pennsylvania...

That's the liberal way..and they get away with it while accusing conservatives of being mean spirited.

It's ok to call people "putz", stupid, irrelevant, call George Bush stupid, a cartoon character etc, because they disagree with his politics.
I think Obama is a danger to the country with his extreme radical views, but the man is not stupid.  Neither is Bush who doubtess has political views that the libs would call radical too.
Lets get off the name calling and tear each others politics apart with facts.  As far as being "stupid"...Bush had better grades that Kerry at Yale,
he was a pilot of advanced jets..something that I would imagine require above a 70 IQ, he has risen to be a two term Governor of an important State and a two term President.  And people call HIM stupid...  Really a convincing arguement...

I hear that he has been playing a lot of pinball and watching daytime tv. I'm sure he can't wait to get back to the rancho and wack weeds. He's not bad at that.

Well, all in all I guess weeds are more of a fitting adversary than any of those he's spent trillions on chasing about the planet. Should have just called in Mossad; they always seem to get their man.

Maybe he's learnt though and will call in Mosskill Inc to help with the weed problem

There was a film 15 or so years ago about the coal mines of West Virginia in the 20's called "Mattewan." One of the main charactors is a very young (12 year old) preacher. He is befriended by a "union organizer" who is trying to convince all the miners and families that the union will be their salvation, and that he is there to help.

During a conversation between the two in a tent one evening during which the organizer is making his pleas, the young preacher responds by saying, in essence, "The men from Peabody and told us they'd help by buying our land. Then they said they'd help by giving us jobs. Then the government came to help. We've had all the help we can stand!!"

A powerfull film with a high degree of historical accuracy, and a powerfull scene, in spite of the seeming humor of the line.
