puella -> Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/26/2008 2:39:39 PM)

Firstly, yes, I have finished the work I had been previously stalling on in other posts....

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2008-10-26-syria-attack_N.htm?csp=34

Invading Syria....really?

Now??

Is anyone else with family in the military (or even without for that matter) sh*tting their pants right now....

(Are we really not allowed to swear on a site dedicated to 'sexual deviation'?)

One thing that is always interesting when there is talk about invading other countries, it takes the attention off what other things our governments are up to.

Personally I think it would do the world well, if certain imperialistic countries backed off and looked to their own affairs before messing about with others.

I suspect the US military will take even more foolish risks leading up to the US election and power change. They are attempting to get done what they can whilst they still have power or they are attempting to get more nasty stuff done before a clean sheet of any new Republican administration is declared.

NormalOutside -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/26/2008 2:59:49 PM)

Wow, they attack Syria and kill 8 people, 4 of them children.  Great work idiots.  :(

I think if the US goes into another war, there'll be war at home.  Possibly blowback, possibly civil.

I'd wait for confirmation on those casualties from a better source.

I agree with this, both sides will want to claim to be correct.

The USA has always said it will carry out cross border raids on terrorist suspects. The one thing they need to do is be certain they have the right targets. Any civilian deaths will not  help the US cause.

kdsub -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/26/2008 6:05:11 PM)

I don't think these incursions have anything to do with the election...but you never know.

Unless I'm mistaken Bush told the world we, as a nation, would go wherever whenever necessary to protect our country from terrorists. Now I am absolutely against the war in Iraq but as long as we are there we should go anywhere anytime necessary to protect our boys and girls. This includes Iran, Syria, and Pakistan. If Syria or any other country harbors combatants that are attacking US forces and refuses to at least try to suppress them then they are open to our retaliation.

I'm all for Obama warning Pakistan up front that he will not rule out US actions in Pakistan... That's what we need in this war...a President that will use common sense in diplomacy but will back it up with force...not half ass force but the full force of our nation.

Lets either fight the war on terror to win or pull out and go home.

Go home. The US has a history of supporting terrorists and terrorism so why it is fighting a war on terror is beyond me.

That goes for other western nations too, particularly Britain.

Agreed!  War OF Terror.  [>:]

That's sad to read :(  Those countries aren't attacking the US, they're saying they'll defend themselves if the US attacks them.  That is NOT reason to pulverize them.  Same with Iraq.  They're begging us to stop killing them and stealing their natural resources, but the US keeps at it.  The US has ruined Iraq as a country and as a culture.

If another country has a method of killing Americans in America, and is threatening to do so, the US has the right to take out that method imo.  So if Iran had a nuke and said they were going to fire it at Miami (or the US had reliable intel to that effect) then the US should blow up the nuke.

What's actually happening, though, is the entire middle east is half destroyed and begging to be left alone.  Very little capability to make war.  Very beaten down, very ruined.  If they do manage to develop a weapon, I won't be upset personally if they level a few states.  The US deserves it fair and square.

While they're at it, they should occupy the US, kill everyone in government (or police, army, or other govt jobs), install a puppet government that answers only to them, steal all the resources in the US, writes illegal laws giving middle eastern companies total control over US land, kill 1 out of every 40 civilians including kids, destroy American natural and man-made wonders, tell their own people they're the good guys and the US is the bad guys, and throw American dogs off cliffs.

Because that's what the US is doing.

I wouldn't believe what Syria says as to the casualties and if we followed the terrorists into Syria and they were harboring them.....Take them out!
It is aggression but, it isn't war. If we had a chance at Bin Laden and he was in Syria.....Take him out! Syria would not hesitate to go after someone in Iraq...or Israel if they could.
If you shoot at our soldiers and we know where you are....We will do our best to get you...perhaps the only time I would ever agree with anything Bush has ever said or
done.
We fought this type of hide and seek war before and would stop our people at the boarders of Cambodia and Laos only to loose our Soldiers because of the others
coming back across the same boarder we stopped for. NEVER AGAIN! I do not like war...do not like the Iraq war but, if you are risking American lives then do what you must to protect them.

The attack is also being reported by Al Jazeera.  What action the Syrian government will take is not yet known.

They may increase the tourist tax for American tourists.

Syria hasn't the power to do anything against the US. It is this impotence in the face of western aggression and imperialism in the region that recruits angry young men to the cause of extremists. Who knows how many more terrorists this act of aggression has recruited.

Rever -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/27/2008 8:25:44 AM)

I'd pay 25.95 to see Syria invade Isreal again, then think a fake God is on their side, then see them lose horribly for the 3rd time

puella -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/27/2008 8:28:16 AM)

Which God is the fake one and which is the real one??

Dnomyar -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/27/2008 9:15:22 AM)

Is there a real God????

puella -> RE: Sh*tting my pants (if I were allowed to wear them, that is) (10/27/2008 10:58:45 AM)

Oh yes, apparently there is a whole pantheon of them and they are all jealous of each other, are susceptible to third grade psychological tactics to get them to do what you want, and are worried about who is going to get the most prayers...
