Aneirin, I've been saying that for years now.
But, some people "feel sorry" for... "poor countries" and insist in us giving them our money and Troops.

Well first welcome back CL!
Secondly although I hate the fact that it has become necessary and I am not a hawk,we have without being revisionist historians caused and sponsored disruptions in the process of the governments of other countries. I feel strongly about America and rules of engagment....there should be only one....see the enemy, defeat the enemy then get your asses home. So, I have little qualms as I posted earlier about the incursion into Syria but, we cannot deny that we have indeed done many things to other countries that would be considered terrorism .We sponsored groups throughout Southeast Asia in the 60's and 70's to disrupt a number of the countries there, we financed and organized a group against Cuba, we were heavily involved in Chile' during the time of Allende'. We have indeed been heavy handed at times and in the wrong often so, nope, no airplanes into buildings but suicide bombers...probably...assasinations...more than likely...secret incursions definitely. Right or wrong the facts are what they are.

The timing of this is odd though. Obama has said he is willing to talk with the Syrians, and the UK and France are building closer ties. Maybe someone is trying to stir the pot, to see this doesnt happen. I assume that the CIA or special forces, would have needed to authorise this at the highest political level. So it will be interesting to see who the intended target was.

Rever, I would give alot more to see Syria win.  I would hope that there are as few civilian casualties as possible, but get rid of that GOD DAMMNED government over there.

Make it easy on yourselves and invade Britain. We have some oil and could do with all the jobs it would bring. The natives are friendly and speak English, after a fashion, we have excellent tailors, good diners, a military so starved of resources that you supply most of their needs with your scrap, a weak unpopular government that licks your testicles daily anyway, and we have two surviving Beatles.
So, get your Marines over here and we'll get the kettle on, Macca and Ringo are tuning up while I speak...
