Boise State's head coach Chris Peterson saw what happened when his predecessor Dan Hawkins jumped to the University of Colorado. Hawkins is making more money now but he can't turn the University of Colorado football program around single-handedly so he's hated there by many, while Peterson is loved by practically everyone in the greater Boise area. Apparently, no one man makes a football program successful one, and money isn't everything. quote:
ORIGINAL: happypervert I'm surprised that Boise State and TCU still have their coaches - those guys have been doing great jobs, so I figured they would get hired away by big name/paycheck programs. Either one would have been better candidates for the jobs at Washington or Tennessee . . . though I bet both are also too smart to deal with the craziness at Auburn. Oh well, more coaches will get fired next year, so maybe they'll move then -- after all, they got their jobs after their bosses jumped to BCS teams, so they know opportunity will come knocking sooner or later.
