Without delving into history i have been pondering monogamy versus polyamory as the natural choice. It started because i was watching tv and an advert came on which mentioned the amount of things which involve the number three. Now this is a little tongue in cheek but we do as people seem to either be obssessed or just be really fond of things in three's.
 
Look at sport. We have 3 sets in most womens tennis matches, 3 legs in darts, 3 goals in a hat trick, 3 medals, gold silver and bronze.
Look at tv, books. The 3 musketeers, 3 charlies angels, 3 stooges, 3 bears with goldilocks, 3 wishes from aladdins lamp, 3 wise men visited jesus, 3 pigs.
Other stuff. The best of 3, a 3 course meal, 3 lights on a traffic light, 3 tier schools, before i count to 3, 3,2,1 go, 3 hands on a clock, 3 months in a season, 3 primary sexual preferences, 3 primary bdsm preferences, 3 trimesters in pregnancy, 3 main female titles, miss, mrs, ms, most people have 3 names, first, middle surname, 3 sides to every story, give you 3 guesses, bad luck comes in 3's.
 
So is the natural actually not pairs, but threes?

Interesting thought there...lol.  I used to think I needed two men to balance things out.  Then I thought because of my health, that I would need to consider my spouse having more than just me.  Hummm...  Maybe... three is the key... hehe

seriously...with 3 you can get the smallest majority  2 vs 1
1vs 1 is a draw
so 1 extra can make the difference

then there is the trinity  in religion... which is often refered to with other things that are 3

Ohhhhhh I am getting confused!  All these numbers... back to three... sorry that nipple thing seems interesting... but damn I think I am sticking with five.  I do have to think of house size ya know...

Aside from all the tongue in cheek and number things ....

I have to say I'm sorta tired of people trying to justify their actions as either natural or unnatural.  Using nature in this way simply helps one to not have to be responsible for their choices.  (ie: if it is natural to be heterosexual, and homosexuality is unnatural, then it is okay to discriminate against gays and lesbians - right?)  

How about we ( the collective we here ) start making choices that are based on our needs and wants.  Using your head, rather than solely your heart or loins, to make decisions might just lead to a lot more stable relationships and more fulfilled people.  I guess the downside would be that all of us might have to stop for a moment and actually think about what we really want or need - lol. 

To the OP, you might want to determine what you want and need and make that decision a reality in your life.  If you need or want polygamy and someone you are really stuck on doesn't ....I guess you'll have to decide if giving up your need for polygamy is worth having that person in your life.  If it is, then be prepared to have feelings for other people and not act on them.  ... and of course visa versa if you are a fan of monogamy.

Something tells me I might get crucified for this one .... he he he.

Yeah yeah Misst, I knew it was tongue in cheek. But people keep asking me what the heck the "527" is and it's really nothing other than 3 random digits so I didn't have to contend with taken names. I thought it'd be cool if someone could actually make something of it so I thought I'd horn in on your thread *laughs*

Iknow what i want and don't want thanks. This had nothing to do with me being confused about poly or monogamy or anything.
