Status: offline 		A 20-something white woman from College Station Texas, currently in southwest PA (ground zero in bitterland) pounding the bricks for the McCain campaign, reports being beaten and robbed at knifepoint by a 200 pound black man who "saw her McCain bumper sticker on her car" and carved a "B" on her face.

Police note incosnsitancies in her story, and most of the conservative media says the story doesnt pass the smell test. The "B" is carved backwards, as if it was done in a mirror, and is too perfect, inconsistant with the thrashing and fighting back that one does when being attacked.

How ironic we have a faked hate crime in the redneck heart of the one state McCain has to flip to win the election.

Please dont tell me this is what politics in this country has morped into.

Status: offline 		I do not really know what to think, at this point, given there are precious few actual facts being doled out to the public yet, and a whole lot of speculation.  But having worked in the realms of domestic dispute cases, often times, people who are attacked by those they love and are willing to cover for, will make up a bogus boogey man, again often times from standard 'bad guy' archetypes.

It is bizarre though, that even the super crazies of the right, like Michele Malkin are questioning the validity of this case.

What I think can be said is that it is unfortunate, no matter how it came about...any way that you look at this, with any possible reasons...it shows a really disturbing ugliness that has been coaxed out of a part of this country that I thought we had evolved past.

The constant subtle and not so subtle call to alarm, violence, ugliness and hate that has arisen, especially in the last month or so of this election is disgusting and the leaders of both campaigns need to stop it..it is their duty...not just passively but unconditionally.

Status: offline 		Yeah, I saw the picture of her last night and the first thing that struck me was how perfect that mirror B looked and even I have been known to squirm around when Himself and I are doing a carving scene. It looked superficial and much too perfect and the mirror image doesn't make any sense for someone who was supposed to be attacked. If you're holding someone's face to carve on it, there is no way it would come out that perfect. Their cheeks would be squished together to keep them still and just a whole bunch of other stuff.

Is she did this to herself, she needs to go to jail.

Status: offline 		You know, I was withholding judgement until more info came out, but as soon as someone pointed at the B was backwards and I went and looked at the picture, it was pretty well obvious it was made up. LOL. Stupid bitch, didn't think about mirror images being backwards. LOL.

Most criminally minded really are dumb, thank god for that.  If not they tend to end up on WallStreet or D.C..

Status: offline 		I thought I was the only one who noticed the backwards B until I saw the follow up article. I thought, maybe the person was a little 'special', that would explain a backwards 'B', but then it probably wouldn't have been so neat. But someone definitely whipped her butt, I pray she didn't do that to her self.

I think it's pathetic and sad.The story started to unravel when they couldn't find her on any video footage of the atm she said she went to.

Status: offline 		i call this move "The Susan Smith".  Sad thing is...countless innocent black men have died or spent time in prison because certain  people are all too willing to believe these sorts of stories without question.  It sickens me that somebody could stoop so low.  Was she hoping this would be some sort of rallying cry?  Truly fucked up........

At least the cops in Philly did their jobs....kudos to them.  It frightens me to think if she'd pulled that sort of thing elsewhere whether we'd be dealing with a bunch of racially based vigilante groups, up in arms....over a lie.
