WTF???

"VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A Virginia Beach woman appears to have been killed by a pet reticulated python while she was trying to give the 13-foot snake medication.

I am no snake lover but really???  They might euthanize a python for strangulating its owner while she tried to adminster a shot to it...alone  (a 2-3 person job,  according to a snake wrangler.

Darwin in action, unfortunately the snake will probably pay for her stupidity.

Well, I learned a lot from that link!
About a doctor who now bakes cookies, and a woman who left her four year old in the car with it running, and, just, a lot of important news.

If you OWN a huge ass snake, wouldn't you know enough about it to know that giving it an injection when you are home alone is a bad, bad idea?

The only thing I could think was what a nice belt and hatband that snake would make.  I'm such a bastard.  Of course, I also have a huge issue when dealing with live snakes.  I am almost as bad with snakes as my arachnaphobic wife is with spiders.

Just reminds me why, in my opinion, snakes are not pets. And yes, law of natural selection at it's finest. Or as Gump put it, "stupid is as stupid does".

When I make a kill I offer prayers and thanks to the spirit of the animal for my taking of its life to sustain my own. I also eat everything I hunt.

Did the snake eat her too?

I do not believe it is possible for a 10 foot snake to eat an adult woman. That mouth, while it is huge, still only opens so far and our shoulders tend to be a little too wide.

I read the article. The woman was found dead in front of the cage. The snake was in another room, "in an agitated state" or something along those lines.

blame it on the drugs

heck, i need help giving my 11 lb. dog eye drops, there's no way i'd attempt to stick a needle in  a 10' constrictor to give it medication solo.

That made me smile. I have two scars, one on each hand, from trying to clip the toe nails of an 8 pound dog by myself.

Another interesting feat........trying to medicate a pissed off cat. They never cease to amaze me with their moves. More scars.

LOL....try doing it to my 120 lb. Chocolate Lab who apparently thinks that toe nail clipping is a fate worse than death!!! It usually takes 3 of us!

We took 4 for the St. Bernard. And we have to do it outside, because she has learned a new way to try and get us to let go of her and let her go out... ick.

We should probably add a 4th to operate the camera. I'm sure it looks like a bull riding competition complete with rodeo clowns. It never ceases to amaze me when I consider just exactly how far that dog can throw a 6ft 4 adult male.....

Oh god, me too!  That's funny!

An 11-pounder can cause a real wrestling match, too, trust me!  Normally, we're devoted to each other, but when it's "pretty feet" time, (I'm an idiot, I know) she turns into this snarling little vicious thing and has actually bitten me, lol.   I've found it's easier after a long walk and play session where she's a little tired.

Argh, my parents first let the cat get poisoned from the wrong type of flea medication, and then left on vacation with instructions for me to give the cat pills every 4 hours.

What a mess.... How a cat escapes when wrapped up tightly in a towel like a burrito, I'll never know. And it's got this trick where it jams it's head against its chest so hard, I cannot get the mouth open.

I would rather worm, or give shots to, either of my horses, than fight with either the cat or that little terror of a dog.

Maybe it's because it thinks you're training it for the day you're gonna drop it off at taco bell.
