How many of you are flipping back and forth?   I have flipped to the point to where I really don't think I am going to watch it any longer, nor vote.
That is coming from someone who in the 80s would have died for their country and consider it an honor and duty.  No way in hell would I die for it now.
It is disgusting.  This entire election has made me ashamed of both parties.
In my right mind, I cannot vote either way.

SC has new voting machines that will not allow you to write in a candidate of your own choice. We are screwed either way.
I will be changing my profile again.

I get to that point in just about every major election right about this time, with a month to go.  I tend to avoid any talking-heads or news shows.  I'm grateful I'm not in a huge battleground state so I'm not as bombarded as those living in, say, Ohio or Florida.

I haven't flipped on this one. My mind was made up months ago and it hasn't changed yet.

i understand how you guys feel!  i have always been and this time around found myself such a strong rep in the beginning.  but after all that has happened, researching each candidate and educating myself (especially since this bailout mess) i have decided to vote 3rd party.

it would be helpful if I could actually SEE a PA ballot!

im thinking IM a 3rd party this time.  any other way is treasonous.     seeing the big 2 handle the bail out really is pause to think.   they are part of the problem.

Ditto. This one has been too cut and dried for me. Years past, not so much so.

Drained?  Hell no.  This stuff energizes me.  I might take a break, now and then, but I love the political circus.  Flipped?  I only vote once on it.  I'm perfectly willing to explore many things before I do that.

Flip? You've gotta be kidding... after the worst fucking administration in the history of the US, you really think I might vote for another four years of the same shit? We're in two wars, the economy is on the edge of a cliff, one city is drowned, our name has turned to shit overseas, the size of the federal government has doubled, and they've run out of numerals on the "National Debt Clock" in Times Square, Hebeas Corpus has been suspended....  and the republican candidate has a history of voting with President Fucktard 90% of the time...

You REALLY think I might have DOUBTS about which way to vote? REALLY? HONEST TO GOD?

Sorry for sounding so shrill about it... but this "both candidates are identical" bullcrap being touted by the right is starting to really bother me. That's what they said about Bush vs. Gore... some people bought into it... and look at what we got. (see previous post)

The differences between McCain and Obama are... well, no pun or racist meaning intended... black and white.

You are ok bipolar.  You did not offend me at all.  What offends me is the way we all have allowed this country to become.  It is sicking.

You are so right.  This election cycle has been full of stress for all of us who care passionately about our government, left or right.  These threads are a good place to vent, to discuss, to share ideas, but we should all probably take a deep breath and two steps back.

I think a week before the general election is time enough to get stressed out over "swing states", Chris Matthews, Rush, Sean or Ubarmann.  Please vote, it would be such a waste if you did not pull the lever for the team closest to your principles.

All the more reason to vote Congress out of office and vote in some folks who actually care about making our country better by improving our fiscal policy's, getting rid of pet pigs (read pork) and putting the most important issues at the top of the agenda, abundant jobs and a future for our children in the form of better, accessible education.

Am I to understand that you don't like George Bush?

Of all the things you mentioned, historians will cite his causing of hurricane Katrina, the raising of the sea level of the Carribean above the level of the city,  and the drowning of New Orleans as one of the biggest fuck-ups and major negatives in his legacy.
As far as the National Debt Clock, just walk south and you, thankfully, won't see it. Come to think of it, that clock does not impact my day to day struggle to pay my own debts, but that's just me.  But I guess most of all, I am upset and can't sleep over the fact that the Europeans don't like us.  Thank God the Russian bear is dead and no longer a threat to them and their stupid,  ugly Americans across the pond no longer being important to their survival.

Having just returned from Europe, I must say that Europeans love Americans.. it's just George Bush they hate and they think we're pretty wonkers for having elected him .. twice. If you talk about George Bush in pubs, admitting that you didn't vote for him gets you free drinks!

Well, it depends on the issues one cares about.

Personally, from an economic perspective, Obama wants to spend spend spend, McCain, wants to bomb, bomb, bomb. Both their policies are not affordable, nor will help.

They both voted for the bailout. (Biggest concrete example so far, of likeness).
I never hear anything out of either of them pertaining to really changing the financial structure, just more regulation.

Anyway, it's always the economy with me, always, forever, number one. They are equally destructive in that regard. Thus my issue that sways me to the tune of about 5:1 or greater than any other issue, they both suck.

So, they are the same, if talking in terms of destructive potential.

You probably are referring to what I look at as destraction issues for the differences. I personally don't care to much about gay marriage, abortion, immigration, so much. They are issues I have views on but dwarfed by oh, I don't know, joblessness, starvation, homelessness, and in that regard, they both have economic views that are shit, IMO.

Hummm... "Tax and spend" Democrats... I've always wondered about that phrase... tell me, how does that compare with "spend us all into a hole" republicans? The deficit spending that began with Reagan, continued through Bush I and now Bush II, is part of what has gotten us into this economic mess. "Deficits don't matter" was the catchphrase... and look at what happened: "trickle down" economics turned into us all being pissed on by the people at the top who were amassing wealth while the middle class was slowly being strangled to death, and the poor began to die off slowly due to a lack of heathcare.

At least the ancient Romans took care of their slaves. They knew that they were valuable. It seems that we're just too plentiful to be considered worth keeping in good health, and be given a sense of purpose.

Yep, those Europeans are really great at picking leaders. Forget about going back through the centuries, just in the past hundred years the "royalty of Europe as well as "elected despots" have plunged the world through two world wars, uncountable nation on nation, religion on religion, ethnic on ethnic group wars and misery....not to mention almost half a century of serfdom under the Soviet Union, and it goes on until today!  And they don't understand how we could pick George Bush....twice!  True, George Bush has made many mistakes but FINALLY we have a choice between John a mere human McCain and a "God"!   Kinda scary when possibly our next President is known only by his "words" and his biography (no deeds, no paper trail..is he real?)  is generally unknown by soo many ardent supporters in the Obamanation.  And now we get down to the tail end of the race for the Oval Office and, finally, Sarah Palin has the Obama campaign "full of sound and fury" and the main stream lib pundits shaking as she peels away the onion skin of the most radical leftist ever to run for President.  You have to only listen to Keith Ubarmann for two minutes two watch this tense, hyperventilating leftist foam at the mouth, throw paper at the camera, and build his case for an insanity plea!
