Oh goodness, how sad!!! i love some of his work. Cool Hand Luke...damn he was stunning!!! And Joanne Woodward, i send positive vibes to her. They were lovely to watch together. He will be missed.

I feel almost embarassed that I am crying but I feel better about my reaction now. You don't realize how much a star can permeate the fabric of your life, memories, childhood until they are gone. For me he has always embodied what it is to be a real man and my ideal of sexy and handsome.

This makes me sad. A great actor and a cultural icon and seemingly a down to earth and decent man. I loved him in Hud.
