Time to get those skateboards, bicycles and roller blades that were languising covered in cobwebs in the garage, out.

cept in a couple weeks..the snow and ice will prevent use of all those things.

I got gas for my car this morning.  I had to pass several stations that were out.   When I got to work, I went to the station across the street and filled up.
I love my small car.  I had a little over a half a tank, and filled up for $20.10.
My slave and I had to take my mother's car this evening. It has to have the mid grade.  Wal-mart had one station open with a line of about twenty cars.
We went back to the one across from work and got it there.  We filled up for about $20.00.
We had gas this morning, and by this evening, we were out again.

I'm just surprised noone's incited a riot at a gas station yet. They had the cops out at the shell directing traffic today.

One of Colonial's storage areas is West of Atlanta....same thing happened after Katrina but, it got better much, much faster! They keep predicting it to get better but the Atlanta area is at about 70% of capacity for the holding tanks and the panic is really like nothing I have ever seen.

Atlanta is hit or miss at best! If there is gas there is a line! Here they blame it on the low sulfur gas required due to air pollution and the latest hurricane. Price isn't too bad when you find it but, there is a bit of gouging as well. I filled up for $3.99 yesterday without a crowd but, I travel the city enough that I stumble on stations that have it and am lucky enough not to travel when everyone else is.
Here in "affluent East Cobb" [8D] there are plenty of stations with bags over the pump handles. I'm on empty in the Volvo and about a half tank in the Benz, but she takes premium, which is marginally easier to find. Only thing is, genius here left the car door open last week and ran the battery down, so I have to jump it and then drive it around for quite some time to get the battery charged up. I figure I'll do that Monday, when I have to run errands, like to the bank and PO and such where I can drive through or keep it running whilst I dash in to attend to business. Already made my high-end beer run, so I'm good for a few days there. Got plenty of grub in the house, but I need to run down to the State Farmer's market some time and pick up a case of bells and 50 pounds of onions and a bunch of other stuff which freezes well. It's just so much cheaper. $1.29 per green bell at Kroger vs. 12 or 15 or 20 bucks for 40 pounds. Well worth the trip. Wish I could get my old vendor to deliver to my house.

the gas suppliers (or whatever you call em) asked that if you have 1/4 tank or more in your tank to please refrain from pumping gas and then limit yourself at the pump to 10 gallons or less.  then requesting that we conserve until the repairs are complete and the supply is back to normal.  no wonder the gas stations are running out! [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m28.gif[/image]
