Since John McCain in his infinite wisdom had decided to put forward Gov.Palin has his #2 on the Republican ticket I was curious how many here believe she is qualified to be President on day one.Please none of the usual "more than Obama is"replies....Obama was chosen by the nominating process...Palin is McCain selection pure and simple.it will be interesting to see how many believe this heretofore unknown is Presidential material(I know this thread is a little late,but I have hd some "awaiting approval"problems and it is what it is)

So wait, you want folks to ignore the top of one ticket, and ask that question about the second seat on the other? Okay, I will just put it in perspective. 2 years as Gov., 6 years as mayor, 6 years on city council. Is she ready to lead? It seems she already has lead. What credentials did Teddy Roosevelt have when he became a vp nomination?

Why do we have to ignore the fact that she has more leadership experience than Barack Obama again? I'm not quite sure I understood you the first time.

Again, I am not surprised that folks don't want to discuss the integrity or knowledge of the man on the other ticket.

No Thadius,I do not want folks to ignore the top of one ticket,as a matter of fact I believe I was drawing attention to the top of the ticket by examining the selection of Palin...it is an examination that I believe McCain fails and fails horribly at.Country first was the rallying cry of the Republican Convention...would this be an example of country first or a pandering cynical move.As for Teddy Roosevelt...off the top of my head he led the Rough riders ,Police Commisioner ,Gov.of New York, assistant Secretary of The Navy...shall I continue...Thadius I do hope you are not seriously comparing Mrs.Palin's exprerience to Teddy Roosevelt,please it is insulting to Teddy and does not reflect well on you either...

Because experience does not mean good. If you are starting a new church, do you want David Koresh (if he was alive) who has alot of experience or a new kid fresh out of seminary school that sincerely cares but has no experience? If I was a church type person, I would go with the new kid. But that's just me.

The only reason Obama won the democratic nomination is because people bought in to his BS "change" crap. It had nothing to do with his qualifications. Hilliary was FAR more qualified than Obama and half the Democratic party agreed. Keep in mind that if Obama wins, there is no time for a training period. We got two wars. The country is on the brink of recession. And we will have the Democrats with the White House and big majorities in both Houses. They cant blame Bush and the GOP anymore. If they dont turn the country around by 2010, the Democrats will be looking at some massive election losses. So Obama better be as smart and qualified as he says he is. If he turns out to be Jimmy Carter Jr......You are going to see another Reagan landslide in 2012.

[;)] Are there any of those types of qualifications anywhere on the Dem ticket? You clearly stated you don't want folks to talk about Obama's qualifications (or lack thereof), so how are you not asking folks to ignore the top of one ticket? It is your opinion that she doesn't represent putting country first. It is also very telling that you believe the sole reason she is there is because of some affirmative action and an attempt to garner votes simply because she is a woman. Talk about reflecting on folks, eh? I would even suggest that the majority of folks around the country are relating rather well to Palin, and worse the polls are showing that folks believe she is MORE qualified and prepared to lead than the top of the Dem ticket.

Last time I looked, Palin was over the age of 35, was naturally born, & has resided in Alaska for more than the required 14 years. Thats all the qualifications Palin needs to be elected V.P.

I think it's very odd that the GOP doesn't see the difference between someone with little executive experience being chosen by the populace and someone with little experience being chosen purely to get votes. By the same logic that people who say Obama isn't ready to lead, McCain is essentially endangering our country in an attempt to get votes. Scum.

Try again. Bill Clinton signed the legislation which deregulated lending institutions, leading to yesterday's market crash. Democrats in Congress REFUSE to allow this country the energy it needs to thrive. It's all on the Democrats, as far as I'm concerned. Well okay, mostly.
