So she's an economic illiterate, a hypocrite and a back stabber. That just about sums up rightwing politicians.

You are, of course, talking about the writer of the email.

She's the town busybody, btw.

...And how ARE things up there in Alaska, Firm? I didn't realize you were a resident of "FrozenMooseDick" whence Palin comes from.

All this says is that there are issues and rumors about Palin... and they need to be either confirmed, or laid to rest, ASAP.

Unlike you, I do my research.

And "research" doesn't mean cruising through Daily kos to find the latest "nuggets".

Most of the stuff that you claim about Palin is bunk, rumor and bullshit or just 1/2 (or 1/4) of the truth, just like the "book banning", her church, her "Alaska Separatists party" affiliation, her "leaving a debt" when she left office. the "lack of vetting" by McCain etc, etc, etc.

You aren't interested in the truth, and you have demonstrated enough times already.

Go do your own research if you want to know more about the author of the letter.

Bait is only effective when the prey comes up to nibble (or, in Obama's case, swallow whole).

Just like I said a week ago, Palin's nomination has nothing to do with the good of the country: it's electioneering, games and lechery [8|] ...

Bloody hell, and here I thought nominating a Vice President had to do with getting elected.

Now it's about lechery? Damn, them politiicians get all the hot babes!

kittinSol -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 12:54:36 PM)

No lechery, really? Give me a break [:D] .

meatcleaver -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 1:16:00 PM)

No, just good ol' fashioned BJs.

Hmm, maybe its muff diving this time round?

EDIT. Back scuttling and spanking an 'I'm right because I say so!' bitch queen is one hot fantasy. Maybe the Republicans are onto something?

LotusSong -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 1:30:00 PM)

Our local newspaper ran an editorial cartoon where the McCain/Palin ticket as "Gidget and the Geezer"  [:D]

(And THIS is in his home state!!)

Personally I think her biggest support group are going to be uninformed right wing "Walmart mom" types. Just based upon the crowds that are going to her appearances.

All that "you go girl!" mindless, sheeple following. They would be doing the same thing if it was Britney Spears.

Sara is the celeb flavour of the moment.

The problem is for the republicans, alot of those Walmart moms tend to be noticebly absent in the voting booth. They just like going to ogle celebs.

Golly...how demeaning to woman who shop at Wal-Mart. I would think that woman who shop at Wal-Mart are not "uninformed" but really kinda smart, thrifty and saving some bucks that can be better spent on the kids...like for food!

I watch a lot of the newscasts and looking at the "crowds" I find it hard to determine who is a "right wing type"
and who is the local principal, fireman's family member, construuction worker, student, soldier, "left wing nut spying with a webcam, or the local bishop!  Fantastic that you could tell that withhout each of them carrying a sign saying
"Right wing nutcase, Wal-Mart mom"!  Gimme a break!

No, I won't give you a break. I watched and listened. I don't particularly care whether you like my assessment or not. But since I heard one group of women that were interviewed say "she's pretty, and I am mad that the democrats didn't pick a woman so I am thinking about voting for the republican. Plus, shes got good downhome values!!" as all her brainless friends twittered their agreement in the background. I am going to call them rightwing nutcases.

Thadius -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:25:07 PM)

Cool... can we come up with a similar label for those voting for Obama, without know any of the policies, or because he isn't Bush, or his poetic speeches make my knees weak?

I believe the forums have been littered with them.

Thadius -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:27:16 PM)

With those people yeah.  But what do we call them?

ModeratorEleven -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:28:50 PM)

Children, please.

Whatever floats your boat. I don't really care to be honest. The whole name calling thing never bothered me. My computer power switch will shut off loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggg before any names will even ruffle my old hen feathers.

Thadius -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:32:54 PM)

Indeed LaT.

I was just pulling your chain a bit.  I think anybody voting for either candidate for superficial reasons, should just stay home.  If they can't take the time to educate themselves about who they are voting for they deserve whatever comes down the pipe.

Just my opinion,

Edited to add: Not sure if you have seen this article, but it talks about those "Wal-mart moms"

http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1839930,00.html

LaTigresse -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:40:52 PM)

Thank you for sharing that article Thadius. I agree, even though they are usually not very educated about their voting choices, those that do vote tend to do so based upon emotion rather than facts. Not a smart thing to do.

Regardless of whether or not the percentage that actually do vote, make their choices informatively, Obama will have to define his position on the issues that matter most to them and break through their uneducated "just because she's a woman, she must be just like us" mindset and force them to look at facts, not gender.

Because, lets be honest, if she were a 55yo white guy.......none of this drama would be happening. He would be getting bashed for his extreme right views and thats about it.

Thadius -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 2:48:10 PM)

I think it is the media that is playing into it, and actually drumming up support for her.  Everytime they attack her as being a bad mom for her career choices or some other nonsense, it pushes more and more away from the issues and Obama's message.  He has to spend time on the stump, defending her or answering questions about her.  It is a strange dynamic.

LaTigresse -> RE: An Inconvenient Email (9/9/2008 3:07:58 PM)

It is a strange dynamic indeed.

I have to be honest. I feel totally comfortable attacking the perceived "Walmart mom" characterization quite simply because many aspects of that fit me for many years.

Working women, trying to put in their time at a paying job while dealing with kids, a household, all the crap that being a working class mother deals with. I didn't have the time or energy to pay any attention to politics. I just purely didn't give a shit because it was too far away from my reality. The government was something ran by middle aged white guys with their hands in big corporate american. And no concern for the bulk of the people they were actually supposed to be serving. I felt that most americans did not have a voice, that we were just being pandered to.

The thing is, for many many years I did not vote. Not only because I thought it was a worthless endeavour but also because I had not taken the time to really educate myself about the candidates so, I felt I had no business voting. After all, what possible information would that vote have been made on? So yes, I have a clue what those women are about. I've grown up around them, worked with them, and basically tried my level best to avoid them. I also know that alot of them are not reliable when it comes to making it to the voting booth even though they love to run off their mouths.

This election has gotten the attention of alot of people, people that previously ignored the whole process. The key is for the candidates to try and educate them about the issues that will be affected, before they cast their votes. It's going to be tough because most of America wants that information short and sweet, wrapped up in a pretty package and handed to them.

Palin, yet again, and the "fundies"

quote:

This is a human story. The more the left attacks, attempts to expose “hypocrisy”, the more the personal will very much become the political. Unfortunately it will become political in a way that leads all those hard working Bubbas, all those church-going single mommas, right out to the polls to vote for that war hero and and those women they now identify with, Sarah and Bristol Palin.

The "other side" will never get this, and are playing right into the hands of McCain.
