i guess they are desperate, and/or it's a turn on for them to perve/mail/solicit/poach/trespass another man's property.

Status: offline 		I've always viewed such demonstrations as a lack of class, lack of respect, and lack of a clue in a major way. I suppose it could be insulting if one lets it, but the reality is, it's really rather pathetic.  I mean, would these guys contact a stranger and say, "Hey can I borrow your car for the weekend?"  Why then would they even fathom someone would hand over a human being like that?  It's insane.

On that note, I certainly wouldn't complain if beth flashed me at Folsom Street (heh), but mostly I'm just really looking forward to meeting you both.

Status: offline 		I am always amazed by such questions.  Completely out of the blue, random, strange.  They certainly wouldn't ask you if they could borrow your car for a few hours!  Why would they ask for your most prized and, where beth is concerned, completely irreplacable possession????
 
I love to play with or experience friends.  I enjoy allowing my friends to play with or experience my own s's.  But a total stranger?  riiiiight.

Status: offline 		I would say that the loaning out another has to do with the dynamic of the relationship. It can be an exercise in submission, objectification, or an opportunity for the submissive or slave to have an experience that they otherwise might not have had.

Status: offline 		I agree that most of these guys are clueless clods, but some are simply lazy.  Forming and building a relationship- getting to know you- takes time and some personal emotional investment.  It's much easier just to write a letter.  I've heard, more than once, of people asking masters to leave their slaves to them if they die.  The most poignant bdsm story I've ever read was about just that issue.  A dominant was dying- he had 18 months to 2 years to live- and he was trying to decide who to leave his slave to.  He wanted to make the transition before he died so she would never have to be alone.

Oh, it was a romantic bdsm short story- not a "true tale".  I have known of some cases of slaves being given away in real life, though- but never one who was bequeathed.
