Owner4SexSlave -> Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/21/2008 11:55:43 PM)

I was wondering how many view song Lyrics a little different, because of knowing what you do about the lifestyle.

I was sitting here listening to Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy".   It really reminds me about how time and time again, how submissives lay their complete heart and souls into a Dominants hands, and how their own dreams can become crushed.

I mean, it's clear that Kieth did not set out to write a song from a BDSM stand point of view.   However, the meaning carries over so excellent into "the lifestyle".

This is just one example of many I could post about.  There are even the songs where somebody is coming across like a love struck submissive.  Then there are the songs with more Dominant based lyrics.

I'm just wondering how many people, when they hear songs and listen to the lyrics, find themselves automatically relating them to "the lifestyle" point of view?

That perhaps people involved in D/s and BDSM see the world in a slighly different light.

I do :)

MaamJay -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 12:17:03 AM)

I do! There's a folk song by an English writer Brian Bedford that goes:

CHORUS:
Walk My path and I will lead you, speak My words and hear My voice,
Be My eyes and you will see Me, feel My sorrows and all My joys.

Be My hands and I will hold you, on My shoulders rest your head,
In your thoughts you’ll always find Me, in My footsteps safely tread. CHORUS

At My table I will feed you, in My house you’ll always know
Somewhere safe that you can come to, when you’re lost and when you’re low. CHORUS

I am you, you must remember, if you leave Me I am blind
Speak My name the sound will linger and I will find you in My mind. CHORUS
(caps applied by Me to make the point!).

Now I am NOT saying he is into D/s  ... just that I find his words to suit very well.

That's just ONE example!

Edited to fix the fonts that went all strange ... still trying LOL!

"Who let the dogs out" strikes a cord with me.

Absolutely!   I do that all the time...... makes me go "hummmm......" about the artist or writer....

Well, I know that mine always laughs when she hears the song that goes ....I'm not here for your entertainment....  becuase she always adds in her head... "Oh wait, yes I am!".  I also know that I'll never be able to walk down the pet aisle in the grocery store again without looking at the collars and leashes with a different eye (since that's basically what she wears).

chamberqueen -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 7:04:57 AM)

Sweet Dreams Are Made of These always gives me a smile now (some of them want to use you, some of them want to be used by you, some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused).

I heard one the other day that I can't remember right now, but my first thought was that the author must have known something about the lifestyle.

As a Christmas present I wrote a song for my Master.  Vanilla people would not recognize it as a lifestyle song, but people in the community would know right away.  Part of it goes:

There are times when we're not whole
We feel the aching in our soul
That's when we need somebody to trust
For a minute or an hour
We draw upon their power
To keep ourselves from turning to dust

Chorus:
It's not love, but it's close
'Cause it's You that I chose
To bear my soul to come what may
To let down my guard
Even though it is hard
To give in and let myself play

LaTigresse -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 7:15:24 AM)

Yes and no.

I don't necessarily go looking for it. I don't look at the entire world through BDSM glasses. Sometimes something will catch my eye or ear and make me stop and smile and wonder, but that's about the extent of it.

Fetishandthemuse -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 7:28:20 AM)

I look at it in the wonderful, kinky twisted way
My all time favorite song, which makes me just swoon.

I'll use a lock that has no key
Aren't you in chains
That no one else can see
Let the water creep over your face
I'll send it in waves
Just to watch you perform the great escape
How long can you hold your breath
While you hold mine again and wait
Just to watch you perform the great escape
I'll pull your arms tight behind you back
Use myself as weight
And wonder while you fade
How long can you hold your breath
While you hold mine again and wait
Just to watch you perform the great escape.

This Alanis Morrisette song just SO reminded me of the disfunctional relationship between a sub friend of mine and her "Dom".  Sung with sarcasm as usual...makes me smile whenever i hear it

I won't see my dear friends as much
Male friends especially, I'll no longer be in touch
I'll change my hobbies to match yours
I'll stop reading my favorite books
I won't spend all this selfish time alone
I'll cater to you and hang on your every word

I'll be subservient and spineless
I'll lick your boots as empty shells
I'll be opinion less and silent
I'll be the prettiest appendage to ever lose herself

I'll re-define self-sacrifice
Live my life as apologetic compromise
I'll know you'd leave if I rock the boat

I'll be subservient and spineless
I'll lick your boots as empty shells
I'll be opinion less and silent
I'll be the prettiest appendage to ever lose herself

I feel this, truly proclaimed will help the curbing of this tendency
I know this sharing of shame will ensure that I won't forget myself so easily

I'll be low maintenance and agreeable
I will not talk about my dreams so much
I'll listen to you for hours, won't need anything

I'll be subservient and spineless
I'll lick your boots as empty shells
I'll be opinion less and silent
I'll be the prettiest appendage to ever lose herself

I'll be subservient and spineless
I'll lick your boots as empty shells
I'll be opinion less and silent
I'll be the prettiest appendage to ever lose herself

OMG!!!!!!!! ME TOO!

Tjudd -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 3:58:32 PM)

I do if there is a connection in the lyrics.   I must admit though that I am sometimes surprised at how many oblique references there are to BDSM around theses days.  It seems like there are more around now, or is it I am more attentive and notice them more.

MistressOriette -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 4:22:40 PM)

Same thing happens to Me. Guess that is where My mind is at most of the time, then again I do listen to NIN alot.

view them alittle different???  Hell... I would be happy if I even heard or understood what was being song.... I hear music.. but the lyrics... are just a mess of words for me.... My comprehension of song lyrics have always been...um  limited at best.

HornyToadsMI -> RE: Song Lyrics and Being in the Lifestyle. (8/22/2008 7:25:35 PM)

I LOVE HER MUSIC!!!  She has a new one called Straitjacket" which is about serious mind fuck.  It is awesome!

This shit's making me crazy
The way you nullify what's in my head
You say one thing, do another
And argue it's not what you did.

Another one I have been drawn to was Julia Fordham "Lock and Key"

I'm gonna wrap you up and take you home with me
Treasure in my heart, under lock and key......

Bilingual
Jose Nunez

The only aphrodisiac I need is your voice
Hearing you speak my name
Beckoning me to answer
Telling me you want me
So I tell you that you're the answer to every question I've ever had about love

Without words I use my tongue to tell the tale of us
Tracing your shadowscape
Kneeling before you my eyes feast upon your masculinity and
All its divinity and I praise you
Because all of that is for me

I begin to indulge myself of your delicacies
Digesting semi-sweet dark chocolate decadence as it melts
Dripping down my chin
Your taste is something Godiva couldn't re-create

Needing every atom of your anatomy
Necessity is placed upon me knowing you are the source of my serendipity
Dipping in and out of me stroking more than my consciesness
Subconsciously I find myself rewinding our love scenes
In my daydreams
Seeing that face you make when you're making me cum
And it makes me want you right there and then

Thinking of you in inappropriate places I get
Tingling sensations in private locations where I wish to be caught between a rock and your hard place

As wetness develops my legs begin to open and my spot turns to a backdraft and all I want you to do is extinguish it
You know my body like the back of your hands
And touch me and send me into ecstacy

My thighs quiver in anticipation of deep penetration which gets me high
Body rising
Sweating
Panting
Make-up melting
Pulling my hair and
Scratching my back
I get a temporary case of tourettes because all I can say are four letter words in a four octave-range screaming your name

Aye papi.... *English Translation of Spanish Lyrics* "You are so big and so hard, you give it to me so good, you are my mortal sin."

You f**king me makes me bilingual
.......

I see your tongue pink between your lips and I want it between mine
And I struggle
As you lick torturing me
I try to get away but
Not really

Running out of room begging for more up against the wall that has been scuffed by my stilletos
Again
You pry apart my thighs and tell me to be still
And I willingly submit to you because I love the way you dominate me
Demanding that I cum for you so I do as I'm told

You've molded me so I'm good to no-one else but you
You've conquered this once orgasmicless world and multiplied it
Again and
Again

My face radiates with after-glow
My pillow scented by you
A fragrance which haunts me
My room smells of the best sex

Covered in body prints and finger prints and you above me
Your name written indelibly upon my body in your genetic history

You f**king me makes me bilingual
......

Jewel

I have them (go figure...lol)

Figured you out "Nickleback"

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While your looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no
Too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed
While you put me to the test
I like the white stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the cheque
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self-respect
While you passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard, just to figure you out
(Now I did, you wonder why)
(Why not before, you never tried)
(Gone for good, and this is it)

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While your looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know

Venus in furs

Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Clubs and bells, your servant, don’t forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart

Downy sins of streetlight fancies
Chase the costumes she shall wear
Ermine furs adorn the imperious
Severin, severin awaits you there

I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears

Kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather
Shiny leather in the dark
Tongue of thongs, the belt that does await you
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart

Severin, severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
Taste the whip, in love not given lightly
Taste the whip, now plead for me

I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears

Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Severin, your servant comes in bells, please don’t forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
