Not directed at one person. However since nobody here can seem to read anything about the case. It's been all over the news for the last month and a half. Meaning CNN, FOX News...etc. Those are the channels I watch in the ams before starting my day. Mom is a liar. She had a child..who just turned 3 if she is still alive. She lives with grandma and grandpa. Grandpa was a cop. Retired or something like that. Anyway...a couple of month's ago. The kid goes missing. Grandma starts asking about the kid. The mother says..she is with a nanny. With the nanny. The mother has a boyfriend...he asks about the kid. The kid is with grandma and grandpa. This goes on for like a month until Grandma puts her foot down and says..I want to see my grand daughter. I don't believe at that point in time grandma thought there was a crime going on. She calls the cops on her daughter. I haven't seen my grand daughter for over a month. Her mother won't tell me where she is. The car smells like there was a dead body in it...blah..blah. Which is when the cops get involved. They start questioning everyone including mom. Who then starts giving them like a thousand different stories about where her daughter is. The cops start testing the DNA and the cadaver smell the dogs picked up in the car. The hairs...etc. Dig up grandma's back yard because there was smell the dogs picked up on there as well. The mother borrowed a shovel from the neighbors around the same time the kid went missing. Anyway...the cops put her in jail for not caring about her daughter. Lying about where she is..blah..blah. She has been in jail about the last month. Still no news on the kid. The cops have searched here and there. Now grandmas story started changing as well. The mother refuses to talk to the cops to help find her daughter. She claims the nanny kidnapped her. Yet..there has been no ransom..and oh by the way the nanny does not exist either. Mom was out partying a few days after the alledged kidnapping. So, yeah..its a mess. Anyway some bail bondsman came from another state and bailed her out of jail in hopes that she starts talking so they can find the kid. Problem with that is...her attorney said don't talk..don't help the cops find her at all. So, are they worried about the childs welfare? Whether dead or alive, kidnapped or wandered off? There is a lot I left out but hey..its 5am when I watch the news and its been going on for so long.

why do the cops feel the mother will be more willing to talk if she is on house arrest?

I am going to have difficulty about the "stain" and DNA from the trunk. DNA can be gotten from a hair, passive transferrance occurs constantly and if you toss a "soiled" item like pants in the trunk to take home and wash you are likely to leave stains as well as DNA. Back in 2002 I had a freezer in my old house, that sat between a wall to wall bookcase and the garage door. It was plugged into an outlet in the section of the garage which had been converted to a spare room. A young man who was staying in there over night unplugged the cord to listen to his music and forgot to plug it back in. It sat in the garage for several days unplugged in 100 degree heat. It had a turkey in it. I got up one morning and nearly gagged. We began searching the house top to bottom swearing some poor animal had gotten in and died, possibly in the walls. We knew it wasn't a person since we were all serching and accounted for. We finally tripped to the fact that the freezer was unplugged and I opened it. My Uncle owned a funeral home and I had been there when they brought in a person who had died unattended and unfound for several days, as a child. The smell was the same. Not one of the big brave men in the house could stand to remove the decomposing bird from the freezer or clean it out. Wanna guess who did (mothers, slaves and women will clean up stuff others blanch at)? 6 garbage bags later we had it on the roof of the car and headed towards the dump. The freezer btw was never free of the smell and had to be tossed. Reason for the story, everyone is focused on the smell Grandma reported...and that the dogs hit on. Decomp is decomp...telling one kind from another is very hard to do by scent and even cadaver dogs are not always on the money. Swab any section of your car and I suspect you will find Locards Principal is working against DNA accuracy. Your Ums DNA as well as your own is everywhere in there, we constantly shed it. Don't get me wrong there is something very wrong in this case, whether it is she sold the child, lost her. she was kidnapped or there was an accident remains to be seen. But what happened still remains to be seen and many people are forgetting that in this country we are presumed innocent until proven guilty not proven guilty by the media and fight to prove ourselves innocent. Condemnation in the media has been as heinous as it was in the JonBenet Ramsey case and it was JUST proven that it was not the parents who murdered her. How many years later while they lived under the medias eye and judgment. We seemed to have learned nothing from that. Additionally I am sure her lawyer is insisting that she say nothing, not only to the media but to the police as he doesn't want to have to fight a battle of twisted words as well. The media has been extremely vicous in this case, The Grandparents are right, there has been little focus on finding Caylee, alive or dead, since the media has been focused almost solely on the mothers failure to notify the police her child was missing. The focus was so great by the Media that the judge for several reasons placed an onerous burden on her for bail. Before everyone jumps, for a 3rd degree misdemeanor the average bail is under 25,000 and for someone who has been accused of murder 50,000 to 100,000 is the average in this state. Her bail was 20 TIMES the schedule for her charges. Her phone calls with her parents were not only taped but those tapes released to the media a violation of her rights that not one of you would have stood for. Now in jail your calls to anyone save your lawyer may be taped, but they are not released to the media, but spot reviewed for evidence/confession or solicitation of drugs etc. In a state where as long as you are visiting during visiting hours or you are not visiting someone on Death row, you can pretty much visit without having to make an appointment or schedule a visit, her parents had to visit on a schedule that was released to the Media. I really do wonder when the Media became our Judges and Juries, capable of judging you guilty before you are even charged. THAT scares the living hell out of me. For those who wonder where some of my information about the system comes from..my youngest son was murdered here in Florida in 1992 and BlackPhx was a Correctional Guard for a time. I have seen the system at work from both sides as the mother of a victim and the wife of one of it's guardians. Poenkitten

I think it is only the bail bondsman who thinks that. I don't get it...if you're in jail you have to go through a bondsman. So, why step in? What is he getting out of it other than publicity?

Ransom is not the only reason for kidnapping, the babysitters name is a common one 400 in the area by that name and well identity is generally pretty easy to steal and pretty rampant. How many of us have ever asked a friend or co-worker for their ID so we can make sure we know their name? this is something I have pointed out previously on meeting people from off line. You don't know who they are even if they give you a DL, Soc. Sec. Number and work number..it can all be stolen from someone else, something that is a growing problem. Mom was out partying a few days after the alledged kidnapping. The time line and date stamp on those pictures and the date of the party is still under question the last I heard. So, yeah..its a mess. I suspect this Bounty Hunter is far less concerned with finding Caylee than he is in getting publicity, however, it is possible that Mom may let something slip, that family pressures may get her to open up where she feels safer. Her lawyer is going to continue to say don't talk, that is his job, if he is going to build a case of diminished capacity or accident or even reasonable doubt, it won't help if his client is blabbing everywhere. Still parents have ways of getting their kids to talk, even when they are 50 years old and know better. So, are they worried about the childs welfare? Whether dead or alive, kidnapped or wandered off? There is a lot I left out but hey..its 5am when I watch the news and its been going on for so long. The media is not. They have already condemned her to the gallows even without a murder charge being levied against her. Nancy Grace, Regis Philben, Judge Alex..and every other Judicial pundit around has done just about everything they can to ensure they will not be able to sit a jury that has not already heard everything and formed an opinion. Reminds me a lot of the Witch Hunts , the only way to prove you weren't guilty was to not burn when set on fire, or to drown if you were dunked under water as the water was presumed to reject you if you were a witch and refuse to drown you. Just... popping in to add some information you may have missed. If you're talking about the tutor who confessed to killing her, I seem to remember there being some doubt still circulating around the validity of his confession. He was charged with the crime but many people still believe that the whole story STILL has not come out.

Poenkitten Well I'll be damned. I remember I was young when this case broke out and I often wondered if they'd ever solve it. I still feel minimal pity for the family since I do not agree with dressing one's child up like a prize whore and parading her around like they did with their poor little girl -- but nobody deserves the death of a child. And I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your own, I hope they caught the fucker who did it and that he suffers.

Sigh...it happens here as well..in fact to friends of mine back in 2003. young couple with their second child, Mom had a class to attend, Dad had worked all night and his sister was going to watch the the baby. She drove Mom to school while Dad fed their son and got him off to day care, then crashed for the day.. Sis came back wnet into the house and sat down to the computer forgetting all about their daughter in her car seat. The interior of the car had hit 150 degrees before she remembered and there was no bringing the baby back..she was dead at 4 months. No trial, plea bargained to probation and no responsibility for any child under the age of 8. Considering she was taking courses to be a day care worker I was happy for that, but i am truly not sure it is enough. We have had parents leave their infants/toddlers/kids in the car while they grabbed groceries, clothes shopped, got drunk or played pool. Considering how hot Florida gets and how fast a child dehydrates the lawmakers have finally made it illegal to do so, but so far..it's kids taken away and probation if the child doesn't die. This IS one scenario I have thought about in the case of Caylee Anthony, if Mom left her in the car and she died, she may have paniced and disposed of the body not knowing what else to do. Perhaps Grandma can get it out of her, I know my sons were never able to lie to me..I always knew (and yes they tried). poenkitten

well to be honest, after the Adam Walsh case, the Sunshine girl case, Kathy Ingles here in Lake Mary, the young UCF student that just poofed, the local media jumps on these cases now. i dont know that it truly a bad thing. i dont know if anyone from FL remembers when Kathy disappeared, but i went to school with her. her body (to my knowledge) has yet to be recovered. these people are pretty sick, and something really stinks about this latest case. i mean i think it was a couple of weekends ago that the mother refused to see her brother or mother. i guess they were pressuring her on her story, and she flat refused to talk to them. it is just flat distrubing. the wonderful thing is though even if they dont find a body, with enough evidence she can still be procecuted, if she is guilty. lee

~fast reply~ The mother appears guilty, no doubt about that, but we have a justice system for a reason. It isn't always perfect, it doesn't always make us feel that justice have been served, but it's the best thing we've got. Watching the news doesn't qualify anyone to officially declare guilt or innocence. What I understand about the bail bondsman is that he's on an A&E or Discovery reality show and he's planning to use this case for tv. What a guy.
