I tend to respond to the opening post of a thread if I am motivated to respond. I never or rarely look up to see if it is from 1964. Then I realize I have responded to a post that is 44 years old. I think it's stupid to dredge up a dormant thread that hasn't seen the light of day in months or years just to add a comment no matter how relevant the comment may be. Some of the folks on the thread aren't even on the site anymore including possibly the one to which you are responding.

That's not the point Evil. This is public, and opinions flow almost freely. Bringing an old thread to the top of the list is not necessarily a bad thing. Is the opinion of a newcomer worth less than one of us "seasoned" members ? And is an opinion that is new worth more than one expressed months, or even years ago ?

Once upon a time, I thought that thread bumping would get you a Modspanking.  But I didn't see anything in the TOS about it (skimming and searching).

Let`s have an ~On Topic Descussion~ forum.

I imagine that people other than Americans are also concerned w/ the election.

Well, speaking for myself, who is going to get in, I feel is almost pre ordained, else why all the attention. There is hardly a day goes by that we do not hear about Obama, perhaps it is a certainty even. But you lot have by all accounts so far, a possibility of change, we on the other hand have not a great deal to look forward to. Our politics whatever the side is much the same, the status quo being maintained at all costs, no one from whatever party will do anything different.

Agreed.

LOL...I was thinking the same thing!  People here have a tendancy to take a negative approach to everything.  Especially if it has been previously posted.  They want to rise up in rightous indignation that you would ask such a mundane question that was asked previously.  I guess it is just the nature of the beast...I look over their snide remarks and consider the source...
