i do like rope the best because of its versatility.
handcuffs i dislike because the metal has zero give and hurts the bone after a while.
i do agree that leather cuffs are a quick and simple alternative although no replacement for rope IMHO.

Exactly. It depends on what you're trying to accomplish and who you're playing with. If I want to do something pretty (maybe we're taking pictures) or I'm playing with a real rope slut, I'm much more likely to use my hemp. Or if I'm doing suspension, that's almost certainly being done with hemp rope. But if I just want quick and effective its the locking leather cuffs and the chain. When subs sleep over, I have them sleep in locking leather cuffs connected by padlocked chain to a very sturdy eye bolt. Its very effective and I love making them sleep in bondage I know they can not get out of, but that just wouldn't work with rope. Plus, I absolutely love the sound of the metal and chain rattling. I had custom leather cuffs made with dangling O-rings specifically for that purpose. They work fantastic on the ankles, in a public space I can hear if my submissive is moving, where she is and where she's headed pretty much at all times.

I like both too. Like most things in the lifestyle I prefer not to choose when I can instead have both/all.

I love rope. Just the feel of rope on my skin gets me aroused. Tie me up, even without genital stimulation and I orgasm.

However I would like to try a pair of cuffs simply because my wrists go numb very easily. Five minutes in this morning and he had to retie my right wrist, the rope was a 1/4 inch too high up or down, not tight but just resting on the wrong spot.

Cuffs... with locks. Leather cuffs of course, metal ones leave ugly bruises and I prefer to have a sub/slave be as beautiful as possible.

Plus rope, depending on circumstance. Both have different kinds of convenience.

I love both. Cuffs make those little jingly noises when cuffed together, which I love. Rope feels so sensous against the skin. Sigh ...

Cuffs! Be it metal wrist cuffs or leather restraints, I adore them. Rope can be fun if you enjoy the set up and the time it takes to rig someone up. I am not that pacient of a person. Cuffs are quick on and quick off when the desire strikes to change positioning.
