Status: offline 		what do you prefer, rope or cuffs? I know rope is more economical and can be used in many ways, but cuffs are quicker. what do you prefer? i'd love some input.

Status: offline 		I prefer cuffs. They're cold, absolutely unforgiving in the way they control the wearer, and often jingle real nice-like.

Status: offline 		very cool, i like the versatility of rope and how beautiful rope bondage can look. But cuffs (padded leather too, sorry for not specifying) is really good when you want to forgo the rigging that comes with rope. i like um both lol

I'm a "cuffs" kind of person. I like the way rope looks -on other people-... but I find that I prefer to focus my skills. Working with rope would require that I get some skill in it, because I don't have any. Because I'd rather spend my learning time on figuring out new ways to make people bleed, I've opted out of the whole 'rope bondage' scene. If I don't know how to mess with it, I usually leave it to the more skilled participants.... hence... I slap nice leather cuffs on the ones who won't sit (or lie) still. *grins*

Status: offline 		lol good point, rope has the potential to be damaging to limbs and nerves from lack of blood flow. which is why i to would leave it to the pros, i however would love love love to get some skill in rigging with rope.

Status: offline 		Rope when tied right and done by an experienced person is beautiful. But also it can after duration can cause circulation problems. But if play extends to whips etc. Leather cuffs to me are the best.

Status: offline 		Ropes take much more time to do , then agagin if you don't have the time to do so cuff's come in handy . I enjoy both, But as stated rope can do harm make sure there's a sharpe knife close at hand or safty sheers to cut them free if need to

Status: offline 		I would have to say i like cuffs the most if for no other reason than comfort....ropes next.......
I've had metal cuffs used on me a couple of times, and they freaked me out....not sure why exactly, but i couldn't focus on anything other than the cold steel against my wrists......
Perhaps at the back of my mind i thought if worse comes to worse, i could gnaw thru cuffs or rope? LOL

Status: offline 		There is no substitute for the look of beautifully tied rope, but when Master has something particularly challenging in mind for me, then He (and i) prefer to use the cuffs...*sighs happily*

Darn right there, you can't sneak up on someone and suprise them with a quick 20 mins or so of rope knotting without them noticing what you are up to lol!

Status: offline 		Personal opinion only, and maybe grossly biased since my first bondage was with cuffs (cheap, nickel, crappy stops, locks would jam, and I still have them for nostalgia...)
Rope is way more fun in that it takes time to apply and can be a form of foreplay. When was the last time you saw a boob-tie using cuffs? Or a crotch-tie with the little three-link chain between her legs? Rope is certainly more versatile in certain ways.
On the other hand, if I'm grabbed by the hair out of the shower and tossed onto the floor to be tied, rope is just going to take far too long. Handcuffs and ankle shackles are far more appropriate to rapid immobilization, especially in a mock-rape scene.
Rope is no more dangerous than metal cuffs, either can be applied too tight, stops and slipknots can slip and tighten too much so both require a good eye on them, but when has careful observation NOT been a good idea?
That leaves leather/vinyl (vinyl for cheap folk like me) cuffs, which is a whole different feeling. If you wear cuffs like a fashion accessory, well you can be clipped to something in a real hurry or rope can be used through the rings as a nice foreplay-esque buildup. Much safer in that if they're fitted right the risk of excessive constriction is mitigated. Unless you like the risk, and risk is cool but there has to be a certain amount of common sense and reality.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
