proudsub -> swinger/fetish home/club shut down (8/14/2008 1:20:50 PM)

A swinger/fetish couple's home/club just south of  Seattle was raided and shut down for violating zoning codes after a neighbor complained:

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008112632_swingersclub14m.html

This online article leaves out the picture that was on the front page of the Seattle Times today, it's of the couple naked just wrapped in a sheet (or maybe it just didn't load for me).  Personally i think that was in pretty bad taste.

I'm posting this as a warning to those who might be doing something similar in their homes.  I remember someone on CM asked about that not too long ago.

Lynnxz -> RE: swinger/fetish home/club shut down (8/14/2008 1:29:04 PM)

I'd have complained too!

The neighbors had to kick people out of their own driveways, leave their tv's on to drown out the 'Dying racoon' noises, and pick up used condoms out of their yards.

This is not a case of "Those poor, poor, kinky people."

I know a couple pro Dommes who have their dungeons in their house, but they have thoughtully installed sound panels, and no one is running around outside with their happy bits swinging around. :-/

The couple hosted a naked rally for presidential candidate Barack Obama and naked karaoke nights.

This answers the pressing question:

What's worse than karaoke?
answer:  nekkid karaoke!

Based on what I read I would side with the neighbors.

Clearly Obama must apologize for this embarrassment and resign from his run for office immediately....[:D]

StrongSpirit -> RE: swinger/fetish home/club shut down (8/14/2008 4:25:08 PM)

They made the mistake of accepting cash.
Anyone knows the difference between a party and a club is that you take a bottle of wine to a party and a wad of cash to a club.

Also, the mere fact that they were having SO MANY parties that they felt they needed to get some cash back indicates a problem.

The pic did load...What can I say? I have a voyeuristic side. lol

This was by far the funniest line of the article:

Many nights, Rosenstiel said, he left his TV on as he went to sleep to block out moaning and slapping noises.

"Once in a while it sounds like a raccoon dying," Rosenstiel said.

I love to sing, but prefer to not swing if i do.  One microphone only for my performance's please... actually, if someone special wants to sing into my other 'mic' while i sing, and if Ma'am gave permission; i don't think i'd complain.

DesFIP -> RE: swinger/fetish home/club shut down (8/14/2008 7:31:59 PM)

I'd be pissed too, at people throwing their garbage in my yard, blocking my parking, and preventing me sleeping because of their noise. A suburban bedroom community is not the place for this. The warehouse district which has plenty of night parking, is.

abcbsex -> RE: swinger/fetish home/club shut down (8/14/2008 7:39:03 PM)

ha ha my dad lived in that area for a while.

I'm on the neighbor's side with this. I just attended something of a nekkid pool party and the noisiest group was some kid's birthday party on another property. The key to it was that the yard was completely surrounded with privacy plantings, we waited until it was dark and we used the hosts' own driveway. If I was the owner of that place, people who didn't follow parking/littering rules wouldn't be invited back, and I'd make sure to bake cookies for the neighbors often.

Hello proudsub, *smiles* we are both from lovely Washington State. The article seems correct and amazingly non sensational considering the news media these days.  The owners were kinda nuts to not look into all legalities prior to beginning thier adventure, and extra whacko for ignoring issues as law enforcement became involved over a couple months.

I do know, this supposed club or home with supposed "donation" parties advertized thier parties with fees listed on many swinger and BDSM yahoo groups.  Laws, neighbors, etc all must be considered prior to engaging in any business or even a private party.  I have little sypathy for them.  I thought the article was well done and mostly accurate.  Hugs, --Nan

Oh this would make me SO angry if I were one of their neighbors.  I am incredibly tolerant if one of my neighbors having all their rowdy friends over, hell I may even pop in, say hello, and have a beer.  I have been known to throw one helluva bash and get loud and silly, indoors and out.  However, we don't infringe on others' property, their driveways, we don't litter, and we sure as hell wouldn't be leaving used condoms in yards.  Gross.  [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m15.gif[/image]

Cookies, what a great idea!  All my neighbors are getting a tray of assorted baked goodness, my birthday and Labor Day are coming up.  lol

I  love how the pictures in the artical look like they were posing for some photoshoot, not a police artical.

Me as well (and I'm a PNW / Puget Sound kind of guy).

Finding rubbers on my lawn would kind of squig me out.

Is that right? I didn't know that? I always toyed with the idea of starting a BSDM swingers (yes, I know it doesn't generally go that way) club, where, everyone is a member and the members pay dues but that's not a "profit" per se, it goes to expenses and to the club (which the club would have a treasurer handle),. The trick would be to spend all the money (doesn't seem all that hard to do) and it would still be a club, with money.

Couldn't it?

This is the primary reason why Desert Dominion is in an commercial/industrial area.  On Saturday nights, ours is the only building on the block that's not empty.

With space, noone can hear you scream.
