What in the world happened to being held accountable for your own actions? If a game or music pushes you over the edge, odds are there was something wrong with you to begin with -- especially since the kid is well beyond the age of understanding the difference between reality and fantasy.

I've always found things like that to be hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Seems like a general trend of the lack of personal accountability. Someone kills a bunch of people after playing a game or listening to some death metal and all of a sudden "Oh the game made them do it". Maybe it's more a symptom of people not wanting to believe someone can just be crazy, or that people can just turn evil (so to speak, though I hesitate using the word, I believe it communicates the meaning well enough). If you play a game, and then go out and kill a bunch of people. Then chances are you were already fucked in the head. People tend to neglect the fact that a huge amount of people play the same games, and don't go kill a bunch of people! How about that!! :D

Kind of makes you want to grab ahold of people, shake them and go "Listen, people go do things like this sometimes, and sometimes there is no reason. It may not be the best world. It might be fucked, but it's ours. Wake the fuck up and live in it instead of blaming everything under the sun."

i dunno.....

i am kind of a fan of any country that will publicly cane you for theft or vandalism......

we could use a bit of that here. you know, it takes a village and all....

My guess is, someone told him he might get off the death penalty if he claims "the game made me do it"

As far as I am concerned, he was old enough to know the difference between right and wrong. I seriously doubt the game is to blame for his troubled mind.
