Status: offline 		How can I tell if someone online is an actual woman or a man posing as one? - Sometimes when I chat with someone something just doesn't seem right, should I trust my instincts?
I'm weary of profiles without photos, or with glamour photos or even just photos of very attractive women, because they look like they might have been stolen off the net somewhere. (And also I find it a bit unbelievable that someone like that would want to talk to me lol.)
Does anyone know, how often do men do this? And why do they do it?
BTW I don't hate men at all, I like them very much, I'm just looking for a woman.

Drives off the 400 pound women who post pictures of themselves as 100 pound  teens too.

Status: offline 		Meeting in real life.  It's a problem for everyone, but your profile talks exclusively about an online relationship, which will attract people who cannot meet in real, because they don't exist.

Maybe check out the video chatrooms?  I refuse to go in there, myself, but at least then you can see who you're talking to.

Status: offline 		I once knew a guy online for 2 yrs before discovering one of his other "identities" was also chatting in a lesbian ds chat room.  He was very good at deception, and had a voice which could go either way.

There are several ways to tell, most of them are about my gut instincts, so I can't help you.  But, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I have no idea how often they do it, and I can only speculate on why.  For some, it may fulfill a type of crossdressing desire, while for others, it may help them live out lesbian fantasies in some way.  For many, I suspect it is simply that they want attention, and women apparently attract far more attention here than men do.

One way to tell is to ask to see them on cam. 

Why do they do it?  Several reasons.  One reason is that they are simply trying to work a scam for money.  Often they won't ask for money for a week or two, other times they will ask on the very first chat session.  Another reason they will pose as women is that they are hoping to get you to perform on cam for them so they can get their jollies.  There are probably many more reasons as well.

Status: offline 		I once had a "woman" (I suspect it was one, but who knows) tell me she needed me to prove I was a male while having an online conversation. That one threw me for a loop. It felt a lot like having someone say he or she needs proof that someone claiming to be from the heartland of Texas is, in fact, a Republican.

I thought, who pretends to be a guy?

There are types who do this.  Woman who want to see what else a guy will say- or if he is looking at other woman.  Gay/bi men who havent reached the maturity to get past that.

I had phone sex as a woman a few times.  [comliments of a voice changer]  what did it hurt?  A good many are here for a orgasm.... not actual real time.  RT is unworkable cos no one is local.   Think.  If your metro has 1 million people, that is 500,000 females- and if none of them suit then there is something wrong with YOU.

In early years online, gays and woman did this type of mascerading.   But @ 2006,  men equalled or surppased that group.

I was one of those so called woman.  In fact- I was 5 of those so called woman.   Well maybe 5 isnt a good number."You" men are jerks to the ladies.  Like a shark in a feeding pool.

It is words on a screen.  Find a better outlet.  cyber life is not real life.  [even if you put must be real in profile, and no games]

Frankly a good many of men - get what they deserve.  They dish it out, and then cry when they recieve it.

Odd you mention him. I saw his show on cable here in the UK last night. One of the perverts even said " I knew that it would be dateline "  Hansen asked him why he still went and the guy said he didnt know. Fair play to the show for doing a good job.
