Far enough to see that the system gave weight to Grammy Awards. Exactly... it wasn't a 'Favorites' list, so complaining that Stevie Wonder got a higher ranking than some album which never won a Grammy, sort of misses the point. As the author said, if someone has a rational argument that some other factors should have gone into the formula, instead of sales, longevity, and critical acclaim, put them forward. I personally don't care about those factors or Top 20 lists, but if one is making a list, those are as useful as anything else I could have come up with. And on those factors, Stevie is clearly ahead... that album was lionized by critics in jazz, rock, soul, and damn near everyone else... most of the others were more genre specific. My top 20 favorites list would be based on virtuosity, lyrics, and influence on later musicians, and would therefor probably be meaningful to very few people. And at least this one was more objective than the moron a few weeks ago whose Yahoo Greatest Heavy Metal list included Thin Lizzy, because 'how could you not love a band who wrote Whiskey In The Jar?'..
