I find that age brings confidence.
I feel better about myself at 24 than I did when I was 19 and "perfect."

By 40, I'll be downright conceited!

This is true. You will be a powerhouse like me!
[:D]

Really though, some of the younger people on these boards have really blown me away with wisdom, insight and downright genius. So much more knowledgeable and together than I ever was at that age.

For much of my young life, I wanted to be someone else. I was lucky enough to be truly fine, but it was never good enough. There's so much pressure when you're young to change, it seems to me. Everything society tells our youth is that if they could only XXX then they'd be happy. (Usually involving buying something.)

When I had my kids my body alarmed me. I hadn't had to worry too much, though I did anyway, like an idiot. But I had gained weight, I had stretch marks. I fed my babies with my body and it showed. I have a c-section scar that still freaks me out.

However. In many ways, I've been much improved. I have less cellulite than I did then. My legs are finally attractive for the first time in my whole life (I was a gymnast and hated my musculature). My boobs are bigger than ever, even though I'm not fat. My hair is thicker and no longer fine.

The most important aspect to being my age, though, is finally liking myself for who I am. I don't covet another's body or experience. I like my own. Now.

But personally I see older people bash down younger people a heck of a lot more than I see the other way around, and when I do see it, it's almost always in REACTION to a bash.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Although I try and be a proponent for younger kinksters when the age-old (har har har) arguement appears on the forums, occasionally some 40-year-old telling me that I can't be what I am just because I'm half her age gets on my nerves to the point where I do want to just put my fingers in my ears and sing-song "nyah, nyah, you're so old. I'm so young, sucks to be you!" I can't recall ever having done that, however. Although the arguement is usually made by someone without so much of the wiser, it can't be denied that someone twice my age has done quadruple the cool things I've done in my life. And though it sucks to be reminded of it, I know I personally, and probably most other young people, have a lot to learn.

I think part of the problem that encourages us youngsters to get uppity is all the older gentlemen trolls on the other side of the site heaping attention on us because we're young. Personally, I find that more offensive than flattering...if a man is only attracted to me for a number, whether that number is 22, 5'2", or 38F, he's probably not the guy I'm looking for.

In  more ways than one your post was great, and I identified with several parts, but I love this part especially.

Personally, I'm VERY jealous of the youngsters, male and female, that have found and are enjoying the lifestyle.

I've been fantasizing about it for literally DECADES, but only entered in real time in the last year.  Yes, I'm VERY jealous that these lucky young'uns will have LOTS of time ahead to explore, have adventures and participate is a wonderful lifestyle.

I don't begrudge them, but if anyone locates a fountain of youth.. (grin)

Twenty goes into eighty a helluva lot more than eighty goes into twenty.
