LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Tempest Storm is fuming. Her fingers tremble with frustration. They are aged, knotted by arthritis and speckled with purple spots under paper skin.

But the manicure of orange polish is flawless and new, and matches her signature tousled mane.

She brushes orange curls out of her face as she explains how she's been slighted.

She is the headliner, you know. She is a star. She is classy.

"I don't just get up there and rip my clothes off," she says.

Indeed, the 80-year-old burlesque queen takes her clothes off very slowly.

Good for her. Having said that, I may not be going to see her if ever in Vegas....

Aileen1968 -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 4:27:44 AM)

I think her sister works at the local go go bar down the road from my house.
And her pregnant granddaughter.

DomAviator -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 4:47:17 AM)

Please Dear Lord, Do not ever ever ever let her come to Treasures as a feature dancer... Just knowing that Granny was giving gum jobs in the champagne room would ruin the place for me forever LOL.

Im sure the ladies are deriving great amusement from this - but I have to ask, how would you feel if George Burns was giving the full monty at LaBares. [:D]

christine1 -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 7:58:33 AM)

she should go over to i think it's called the Olympian...can't remember the exact name of it but there are female and male strip areas and there are all kinds.  tall, short, fat, thin, hairy, shaved...you name it, they have it.  i'm sure they have room for an 80 year old somewhere on their stages.  (and i'm sure somewhere, there is an audience for her out there too)

Maya2001 -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 12:15:28 PM)

she was definitely hot in her heyday

but heck I bet you she can still make most men today in their  70's and 80's drool

lilsubl -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 12:30:45 PM)

well, there's another dream i have to put on hold for a few years:  to be the oldest stripper on a stage....*sigh*

sub4hire -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 1:22:08 PM)

Why not?  Geezers I'm sure go to see someone their own age...I bet she can get a month's worth of social security off of them in tips in no time.

Ha...I'd lean more towards the idea that old guys want to give their hard earned social security down the skivvies of a nice, tight twenty year old.

i think the idea that she should stop dancing just because she's older is insane. no one would tell a dancer who doesn't take her clothes off that she's now useless because she's "over the hill." it just reinforces the idea that exotic dancing only exists to make men happy and that good stripping just means being a cute young thing with a 26 inch waist and no stretch marks. this woman is an artist. i'd be more than honored to learn from her.

quote:

If some might see all this as chasing after lost youth, she says she cares little. Younger dancers tell her she is an inspiration to them, and she has no reason not to believe them. "I feel good about myself. And I enjoy it," she says. "I have fun when I'm onstage, and the audience loves it. Nobody ever said it's time to give it up. Why stop?" Staring up at the 80-year-old woman in fishnets, a sheer rhinestone bra and a G-string, a young woman turns to a young man and declares: "I want to look like that when I'm her age."

Speaking as a man who has lunch in a strip club maybe 3 X a week, I will say that exotic dancing DOES exist only to make men happy! [:D] I not only expect but demand that they be cute young things and wont patronize the clubs that employ the second tier dancers... Dont get me wrong, we have strip clubs here in Houston that have toofless redneck skanks but they are for refinery workers not the professional crowd. Strip clubs are a Texas business traditiion and a hell of a lot of deals were formed or finalized in a strip club, and / or celebrated with a blowjob in the Champagne Room. If I want to watch granny dance Ill head over to the Senior Center to watch the line dancing class.... When I go in a strip club its because I want to eat lunch with my buddies surrounded by scantily clad 20 somethings grinding on us. Admittedly they dont REALLY like us, and a goodly number of them dont even like men in general - but they will still suck for a Benjamin. Put five dances on her card and you will leave a load, and that is why men go to strip clubs. ART??? LMFAO, oh thats a funny female misconception! If we went for the "art" we would go watch The Nutcracker performed by a ballet troupe. When we take Kitten or Ginger or Lacey into the Champagne room its to bust a nut, not for art.

next..on AMERICAS GOT TALENT.

DesFIP -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 4:59:10 PM)

She was a renowned   burlesque dancer. I think it's great she's still performing. And I bet she still has a steady fan base.

tsatske -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 5:01:31 PM)

Okay, I have never had a burning desire to go to Vegas... but if Master takes me to Vegas, this is on my MUST list.
(that, and a chapel with Elvis).

Oh, and DA... I don't know how to word the dichodomy I am going to try to opin, here.

Men go to strip clubs strictly to see cute young things make them want to bust a nut... there is nothing wrong with that. Nothiing wrong with leaving a load in the champagne room, either, as long as your tip is sufficent.

But that does not mean that erotic dancing is not also an art form, and that a great artist should be appreciated. Just because something is a good and true purpose of an act (like getting a nut off is a good and true purpose of a stripper) does not make it the ONLY possible purpose.

A toothless old women with 6 kids, bags and stretch marks stripping because she has to come up with beer money is second tier, and, yes, you should avoid those clubs, unless they are all you can afford.

But a true artisit visiting your club, while it might not be to your taste, is not second tier in the least.

the real problem with encouraging a nasty perception is encouraging the nasty concept in American culture that sex, nudity, dancing, sex, and anything to do with sex, are for hard bodied 20 year olds. If that is all you are willing to be around, avoid the nude beach. Just sayin.

I won't even begin to try to defend exotic dancing as an art form... maybe it is, maybe it isn't... it doesn't really matter to me so long as my man is happy.  [;)]

However... as a woman fast approaching 50, I kinda take exception to the notion that only 20 somethings dancing will make men happy.  I couldn't possibly claim to be appealing to even a vast majority of men, but I'm continually surprised at the attention I still get... and from some young enough to be my own offspring!  [:)]

er, no, it doesn't. YOU may be interested in only patronizing clubs that employ barbie dolls that know absolutely nothing about how to dance but can grind their crotch in your face or give you a blowjob. that isn't art, you're damn straight. but for some people who enjoy exotic dancing for exotic dancing, and for dancers, it IS an art. that is why some of us would pay to see "granny" dance, or pay to be taught by her. the sad thing is, it's the 20-somethings with tits and ass and no talent who are the "second-tier" ones. that's why i say exotic dancing doesn't exist solely to please men. take into account the only studio we have here (we have no strip clubs to speak of really); people pay a LOT of money to take lessons from these women and to have them perform, and they know their shit - nearly every dancer there has extensive training. and *gasp* some of their customers are men. who do not expect blowjobs. go figure!

kittinSol -> RE: Stripping at 80 (7/15/2008 7:04:09 PM)

It's all in the frame: and that old bird seems to have an amazing frame, from the first picture of her back. Architecture really plays a lot in a person's attractiveness, in my opinion: if the structure's harmonious... it can be timeless.

Damn DA, you eat at the strip club?  Man, that's just nasty.  I couldn't eat sitting in a chair that some guy might have been oiling his carrot in an hour before.

Chris Rock did a funny routine about that:
