The see it as a way to pay their college tuition, or to drive a new mustang, or to buy their recreational pharmaceuticals. Its NOT some sacred calling and I would bet that if they want to be honest - the men on here will tell you the same thing I did. We dont see the dancers as "artists" and we go there for no other reason but to see tits and ass and to get some play for pay from the girls who offer more than lap dances. No doubt several women on here have been dancers and they will probably tell you the same thing...

As for "studios" thats a whorehouse. You can call it a "studio", you can call it an "asian spa", you can call it a "relaxation center" .... We have all of the above in Houston, and they are called "Cathouses" by the men who patronize them. (I have also been known to call it "Boystown") I have been in strip clubs, "studios", "spas" , "retreats" , "relaxation centers" or variations thereof on every continent except Antarctica and they are all "Cathouses" and the reason the men go there is to get their pipes cleaned not to see "artistic performances".....

Come on guys, weigh in on this - why do we go to these places? To see art or for T&A?

Actually the buffet aint free... The place I had lunch in today was a $5 cover to get in, the buffet was $10, and Coors was $6.50 a bottle LOL To tell ya the truth, strip clubs dont really do much for me, I can get access to a nicer set anytime I want for free... 2. The only reason to go to a strip club is for the T&A, I can't see any other reason to pay what they charge for a cold beer.
3. While I admit that dancing is an art form, and a great dancer can tell one hell of a tale, most of the girls in these clubs are not dancers.
4. The game "smiles" needs to be legalized here in the states.
5. If I want to see a sexy artistic dance, I tell my girl to turn on the music.
6. I think it's kind of cool that an old "bur le q" dancer is still shaking and enjoying it.

Just some quick thoughts.

Wow, I did not know she was still performing. Some of my friends have footage of Betty Paige and other burlesque stars from the late 50's or early 60's. Tempest looked great and danced beautifully. If she still has an audience and a career going, more power to her.

I cannot confirm or deny anything that happened in and around Subic Bay or the rest of the Phillipines. Although I have a strange recollection San Miguel and mojo parties, that a fifth of Jack was worth it's weight in gold, and that some jeepni drivers deserved good tipping for getting me back on time for muster. Hehe... although this has brought up some memories of Thailand too.

Tempest Storm, Bette Page, and their contemporaries were Dancers. They were Artists. They were women that I would have paid to learn from. The only place you'll find dancers of their ilk these days is amongst belly dancers - and other actual Exotic dancers. Exotic Dancers, btw, are NOT STRIPPERS.

DomAviator, well am a 32 year retired chief, ah what these guys have missed in the far east Hong Kong, PI, esp back in late 50's and 60's!! Ah the shows, esp roof tops of Hong Kong. I seen the lady Gale Storms many moon s ago in NY when flew in for weekend, she had stirring to an art then for horny young sailor. A'ishah, I took belly dance lessons years ago. And I still belly dance - privately at home - as a form of exercise. It's something that I'm doing more of Again in fact, now that I've started loosing some of the weight that I put on over the past few years. (Also getting back into a ballroom & latin dance class as well, both because I enjoy it as an art, and because it's great exercise when done right.)

One of my fairly close aquaintances is a stripper. She is not, however, what I would ever refer to as a Dancer. She doesn't much get into Dance Forms - she's there (even at 42) for the money, like the 20somethings that the boys are jabbering about.

Yeah, DA - some of us did stints in our youth as strippers. My stint was at 19, and lasted a whopping 3 months. After that, I quit in disgust, because even then they didn't particularly want Dancers - they wanted on stage masterbaters with good bj skills. While I've Got those skills (yep, even have references lol) there were none of the guys that went in there during my stint as a stripper that could have afforded my time for something of that nature.

Having never seen her performance nowdays. I dunno if I'd call what she does art or stripping.

She doesn't call it art, herself. She does seem think there is a right and wrong to take off your clothes (which tickles me to death but hey, if she wants to keep that up at 80 yrs old and someone is obviously paying to watch, more power to her) but come on now. I watched the posted videos. She was a stiff woman with red hair and bit tits and a beautiful smile. She was unashamed to be seen with her body on display and she enjoyed the reactions of the audience. HOWEVER she was still stiff in her movements. I didn't see much grace or fluidity. I saw a lot of wiggling side to side.

What DA describes sounds just as bad, if not worse. Neither one sounds like what I would think of as being "artistic" ...

LMFAO We had an NFO in my squadron who picked up a dose of that legendary "Superclap" so bad that he needed skin grafting on his Johnson. Thy actually changed his callsign to "Blisterdick" because of it - and then after Clinton did away with offensive call signs it was changed to "Frankenstein"...
