KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A man says he was so consumed by the spirit of God that he fell and hit his head while worshipping. Now he wants Lakewind Church to pay $2.5 million for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.

I can see the new warning label now:

Being consumed in the power of God can be hazardous to your health.

Wowzers, think of all the folks endangered by the preachers who urge you to touch the television screen.  Or there'll have to be safety zones set up for folks that are slain in the Spirit.

I wonder if I can sue the Catholic church for the damage done to my knees with all of the ups and downs during mass?  I know the ones after mass are of my own doing, but she was a sweet Irish girl.

ROFL. that made my night.

i just thought this was interesting in light of that other lawsuit case we were discussing a few threads back...and also am wondering about the layout of this church. if somebody fell in the methodist church/bomb shelter on campus here they'd break all kinds of things. although it does make one wonder how churches get around those pesky issues of liability.

WARNING THE PRACTICE OF RELIGION CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY AND PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE BODY.

Not to mention it's corrosive effect on the mind.

EXTREME SPIRITUAL PURITY COULD LEAD TO IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Lockit -> RE: man sues tennessee church over spiritual fall (7/11/2008 7:47:02 PM)

LOL... in some church's that practice certain things, they now have people to catch you or cover up what you expose when you are 'slain' in the spirit.  With all those people dancing, laughing, slain and simply fallin down drunk in the spirit, I think they need a dui patrol.

**fast reply**

I wonder when we will see "non-believers" begin suing because of rattlesnake poisoning.
I also wonder if it would be wrong for the public financed ambulance to take it's time getting there, with the thought of "I can't interfere with religious beliefs".

Thanks for the wonderful onset of random thoughts.

THE CHURCH AND ITS LEADERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR FAITH IS SO WEAK YOU DIE FROM BEING BITTEN BY THE SERPANT.....

angelicbitch -> RE: man sues tennessee church over spiritual fall (7/11/2008 7:55:20 PM)

Sorry.... and I don't mean to offend anyone... but at least they will keep their hands off the alter boys ..... they will be too worried about worshippers falling...

Aww, you could have done better.... Like....

How do you get a nun pregnant?
Dress her up like an altar boy.

Besides most churches have padded kneelers these days, I guess that is because most of the professional cock suckers have moved on.  (see that is how it is done) [;)]

hisannabelle -> RE: man sues tennessee church over spiritual fall (7/11/2008 8:01:31 PM)
