ORIGINAL: RealityLicks Israel is unlikely to be involved, its far too big a job. The US have trained MEK insurgents who will be supported by special forces on the ground and will launch a massive air attack. The diplomacy is all a front. Of course, nuclear weapons inspectors cleaning out Israel and Iran and the institution of a regional non-proliferation treaty will never be discussed seriously. That wouldn't guarantee America control of the oil. I agree with you about the possibilities of a regional non-proliferation treaty ever being a reality. However, I do believe it will be Israel (with our support) that carries out the air strikes. Just like they did to Iraq. For many reasons, it makes sense for Israel to do it, most of all the other nations in the region fear Iran being a nuclear power, and Israel would make the perfect front for taking them out. The other nations could in public claim outrage, while in the private chambers celebrate that it was done. Not to mention that any retalitation would be an open invitation for the US to unleash hell, and distract Iran from other activities (blocking the traffic in the straight). Of course this is just my opinion, but I would rate it at a somewhat educated guess. Thadius
