My colleague is into ice play, and finds it quite enjoyable to use ice and sharp objects to inflict pain. My preference is fire play. When I do fire-play, I use 'cupping' for increased sensation play -- We recently saw a cupping demo at an event that I loved. The top set up a "cupped" drum-set on the bottom's back and hips, using different diameter cups and different amounts of suction/tension under the cups to regulate the sound each cup made. He then proceeded to "play the drums" on her -- it was awesome to watch, and according to the bottom, increased the intensity of the cupping session. I enjoy using flash cotton, and following it with drops of ice cold water, or placing ice on top of areas where I've dripped wax. I don't tend to do anything on skin that I've been fireplaying on that uses blades or pricks the skin, since my mentor had a couple of occasions where very sensitive individuals' skin blistered after a relatively short fireplay session followed by cutting, and the cutting opened blisters. The blisters got infected in one lady, and though it wasn't horrific or disfiguring or anything, she was -really- uncomfortable for about a week -- so I tend not to take a lot of risks and choose not to combine cutting/needle/piercing play with fireplay.
