I sleep when I'm sleepy, I eat when I'm hungry. Everybody's patterens are different. Some are just habits, like eating 3x a day at certain times and going to sleep/waking at others. whatever works for you is cool. I had a friend, many years ago who was/is an artist. He also meditated. He slept when he felt a need to, usually a couple hours at a time. He lived a 24 hour life and was mindblowingly productive. It made me consider the possibilities of just listening to what my body needed rather than living by the clock. Opened a new world to me. I don't suggest it for everyone, of course, but it sure beats tossing and turning when the body doesn't really need sleep. Meditation does, somehow, reduce the body's need for sleep.
