This is of course only true now. When I was a lad, things were tougher. All new masters had to collect the scalps of ten wanna-be masters, and one of the Old Highe Ture Leathre Guarde Mastres had to die peacefully in his sleep, and be burned upon a pile of his strangled bitches and bitch-boys, whereupon the assumptive new Mastre would don the still smoking hot Iron Ring Of Dominance and be feted for his ascension by the secret Mastres of the Olde Highe Ture Leathre Guarde. Those that failed of course were eaten alive by purposefully starved neo-submissives in the pit. But, thats another issue entirely.

Actually, no. My rhetoric was implying that in order for this Master/ Slave dynamic to be successful, both parties needs have to be met. Which would mean that I agree with your stance that either both parties involved win or both parties involved lose. My point was simply that if the "Master" has the mind set that his or her needs are to be met while the Submissive or Slaves needs are to be 100% contingent on the Masters needs ONLY , without thought and action of meeting the Submissive/ Slave's needs then the chances for long term, contented Sub/Slave / Master relations is pretty much a lost cause.

Thank you dark victory i have now fallen out of my chair laughing you win Sir. Though what makes a good master/dom is subjective(pun intended) and based on the relationship because needling down what is the making of a master/dom or where it comes from in my mind like asking which came first the chicken or the egg? because in the end who cares if you have either you have a meal. More importantly Ladies and Gentlemen lets let the subs and slaves argue this one out until they come to a mutual conclusion and then inform them they are wrong and punish them accordingly.

What "makes" a Master is easy, he fulfills the needs of his partner. Now in the case of a submissive, that means he takes/uses/abuses her in ways she needs. He takes control in ways she needs. Perhaps most importantly, he creates a world in which she feels safe enough to let go and submit. BEING that man is another thing entirely...my wonderful son made a comment that stopped me in my tracks and now brings tears to my eyes. We were talking about family and how you support it in tough times and without a pause he said "shit, if I needed money, I would get a job at McDonald's if I had to " in order to ensure they had the support they needed. Wise words...
