I dont think we will see a story on CNN saying Prodoms are hurting for clients to the point they are offering 2- for 1 coupons,....but does anyone have storys of having to put off BDSM events or meetings or even purchases. In one case on Switch I know has made an economical decision not to travel to meet guys over 2 hours one way because of the cost involved?

Yeah, I'm really frustrated. Its not just the exonomy (lol) but my apparant inability to find a job. I'm totally stuck. It sucks. I'm something of a road warrior, and love traveling to meet people. It used to be my entertainment. I'd drive hours just to have a cup of coffee. (Once I drove 12 hours to deliver a 45 min presentation at a conference then turned right around and went home.) I'm going stir crazy. I haven't been anywhere in ages. But, with gas upwards of 4.25 a gallon, and no income at the moment, I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping my ass close to home for a while. wanders off to bang her head against the wall

I was planning on going to Thunder In the Mountains this year... but with gas up to $4.20 here in Arkansas, and nearing $5.00 a gallon in Denver... I'm going to have to save a good bit more to make the trip. Maybe next year... And I'm between Dommes right now... so I'm looking for someone within a 30 mile radius. :(

Yes, I have been affected. Normally I would have flown someone in to meet me in a heartbeat… even if just for a nice date. Nowadays I’m thinking that even if airfare isn’t prohibitive, if the “date” goes well and they have LTR potential, the cost of shipping all there stuff will be outrageous.

Given the major role of rising oil prices in our finanical woes, I think "Exxonomy" might be the right word.

I actually just improved my income, just started a new job. Plus the new job is closer to my girl so I'm saving gas on trips to see her. Although I might be losing that commuting, my old job was super close to my house. It hasn't really kicked in yet(I'm still waiting for the first check) but it should be quite an improvement soon.

the cost of doing everything is going up so yes it has effected my BDSM as well. i travel less and make fewer purchases as well. this does not mean that i have less of BDSM i just have to enjoy the time i do play to the fullest.

i rarely ever do anything lifestyle oriented with groups so it hasn't really effected me in that way however, it has effected me with finding and meeting new girls whether they are potentials or litterally just friend materials, i'm bored to death these days but, i've grown into this conservative person...i use to go to a million concerts, lots of movies, and eat out all of the time at my favorite resturaunts with the economy the way it is i dont really dare to do hardly any of that stuff anymore. ~meticulous~

with the price of gas slowly and my beast..hehe.. i will be slowing up on going to the dungeon. it is that or forgo my brain saving trips. Daytona aint far, but with my beast, it sure can be painful now. to think i used to dern near live there..hehe.. gotta adore the balancing acts. lee

yes... Our's became a LDR several years ago. The idea was to plan trips back and forth from Az to Ga and visa-versa as often as possible. "possible" has redefined itself due to the exxconomy, planefares, gas, income levels....ACCKkkkk now I'm depressed [:o] [sm=imissu.gif]

One of the benefits of my version of BDSM...........being more M/s oriented rather than fetish, I don't need to spend money on expensive items. Also, not really having any interest in joining any sort of group or attending fetish events, I don't have to travel. So no, the economy has not affected this facet of my life.
