All search engines monitor activity - most websites also do.  The question is, how much they attribute the activity to individual households.  Our privacy laws are evolving.  Now is the time to write to your congressman and senators to tell them what matters to you.  Take the time - they pay more attention than you know.

That said, our obsenity laws also need to evolve.  I am glad to see internet use statistics used to do something aside from selling us something.
