ORIGINAL: Alumbrado Let's see what that bastion of neo-con fabrications and bias Snopes, has to say about the notion that Enron was the scandal of only one party... "... Enron traded so much money and influence... among both Republicans and Democrats.... that neither party can rightly take the moral high ground in decrying the scandal..." One more time 'I r o n t r i a n g l e'. I agree. We, as an electorate, have to wake up to, and acknowledge, the fact that , due to what amounts to legalized corruption, our "democracy" is broken. Both major parties and our politicians are corrupt and dance to the tune played by the big money campaign contributors."Everybody" does indeed mean everybody. The only way to remedy this fact is to have legally mandated , publicly funded campaigns and elections. Yes, yes, I know the arguments for infringement of free speach regarding public financing. Imo, that is a red herring. Public funding of elections will allow more, not less, free speach. At least the big money's loud voice will not drown out the common citizens'.
