Absolutely not: it's just that education provides its beneficiaries with an added layer of critical thinking. It tends to make people less susceptible to myths and legends, such as the one of the "Global warming is a communist invention intent on destroying our way of life". It's nothing to do with cretinery.

Kittin, you're so right!
My education in business admin. has taught me to always follow the money.
Anyone who thinks that the "U.N." can "solve" "global warming" if we just give them mo' money has rocks for brains.
Making more beaurocratic regulations that no-one's going to follow and stealing our money's not going to "solve" anything.
And it's not like they're going to actually get up from behind their desks and actually *do* anything about it. You know, like actually get their hands dirty.
Any paperwork that they come up with will cost us $10M per page.
How the hell did the "U.N." get involved in this anyway?
Look at that fraud called "Kyoto".
It's a juggling act of "pollution credits" which can be bought and sold.
It lets the holder of one of those "pollution credits" *pollute more* than someone who doesn't have any! Are you shittin' me?
The last thing we want to do is let the "U.N." get involved in anything like this.
If I need heart surgery I'm not going to call a carpet cleaning company.
Then we have schmucks like Congressman Patrick "Patches" ("I, myself have educated myself") Kennedy voting for this shit because Daddy told him to.
Oh yeah, Providence College provided Patches and his 90 i.q. with an added layer of critical thinking alright.

...  many underclass that Labour no longer represents, vote BNP, one assumes as a protest because apparently many black people have voted for them too in some areas.

Meat, I'd be interested if you could put some meat on the bones of this particular argument. I doubt you'll find a reliable source for this one and I'd question the gullibility of anyone who seriously bought it.

More generally, the article quoted states - as per my earlier post - that 75% of Britons are concerned about global warming, in direct contradiction to the thrust of the OP.  How accurate that figure is, I don't know, since the poll and the article appear to be aimed at generating more heat than light.  Remember folks, methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2.

About minorities voting BNP? I did read that two seats won by the BNP in Rotherham must statistically have had some Asians and blacks voting for the BNP because of the ethnic make up of the wards involved. Yes, without having people name their race when they voted, it is impossible to know for certain.

The same reason everyone is jumping on the band wagon...they are seeing major dollar signs. Give me 100 thousand a year and I will swear the world is ending due to GW and that it is all  <insert group name here> fault. Now with just a little more tax money, I will save you all........promise.

slightly ot...A company my friend works for, just hired a girl whos main job is monitering CO2 emmissions and finding ways for the company to become more green friendly. He helps run the company paintball team and was a little surprised when he heard she had decided to come out last weekend and try playing. She seemed to have a great time and is looking forward to more games in the future, perhaps even joining in the national games. I have to wonder if she realizes just what makes that little ball fly.
