... been presented with the opportunity to be with someone (for play, for a scene, for a relationship, for whatever), this someone being very attractive to you, and then talked yourself out of it or left before things could develop?

If so, why?

in jr high. he was captain of the football team, i was a geeky stoner....i thought it was a joke and that i would end up covered in a bucket of blood, so i said no, only to find out years later that he had a huge crush on me, and the truth was i had a huge crush on him....

drats.

JohnWarren -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 11:07:28 AM)

I'm assuming that you mean "attractive" in more than physical terms such as having no negative factors like an active STD, an Afghan brother or a jealous husband with a knife collection.

In that case, NO!

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 11:25:09 AM)

nope...cause nobody has wanted me for me...only for curious crap which is a definate no no.

spinninsweetness -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 11:30:27 AM)

I wouldnt believe it if someone physically attractive asked me out.

I have talked myself out of ever persueing a relationship, looking for a partner, accepting a date- all based on my looks.

I'm working on it, but I do have some serious doubts when people ask me out or anything- only online, never happened in RL! Is it because they are desperate? Curious? Taking the piss? I need to get me an ego!

azropedntied -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 11:32:55 AM)

It has happened but  it has been kinda rare too .The only reason i turn down  exchanges  is the energy is not right or i get that she is going to  tie me up and drain me of my blood and take a bath in it feeling , ya know  generally being safe . my instinct is pretty right on the mark .

akisha -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 11:51:19 AM)

Yes a couple of times when I was younger, the reason I backed out or walked away was because of my own insecurities. Thank goodness I've overcome most of those (tho sadly not all)

Same here, basically I was afraid of myself.
Of liking it and wanting more

DesFIP -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 1:04:12 PM)

When younger, due to my insecurities. The truth is, it wouldn't have worked out because I wasn't ready for a relationship at that point. I simply hadn't done enough work on my own issues to be a healthy partner.

darchChylde -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 1:05:57 PM)

All the time.

daddysliloneds -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 1:13:20 PM)

But...but...but...you're cute! Really! Goodness. And, btw, sometimes the typically beautiful DO ask out the atypically beautiful...and marry them and raise children with them and all that stuff. Happened to me. :P

spinninsweetness -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 1:49:50 PM)

Thankyou thankyou Jenny, I like being cute, its the very bestest best way to be

sirsholly -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 2:21:33 PM)

It's "slut" but you'll have to settle with being the West Coast Slut as long as I'm here

cjan -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 2:54:33 PM)

*Snort*

Spinninsweeteness, I think you are cute too. I also enjoy your sense of humor and apparent intelligence. Two very sexy qualities, imo. Don' sell yourself short, darlin'.

cjan -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 2:57:37 PM)

P.S. The snort was for Cali. Apparently, something is kablooey with my ability to edit my posts.

Leatherist -> RE: Have you ever...... (6/16/2008 2:58:19 PM)

Oh my goodness, have I talked myself out of some amazing opportunities!

Hot guy in college - offered me to travel the world with him on his trustfund for 2 years.  I still talk to him this day and he tells me of his many adventures that he dreamed and wished I was there to share.  :::smacking self in forehead:::  Some reason I had in my mind I have to be absolutely independent from everyone!  :::still smacking my forehead:::  The rough part today - he's still incredibly hot...and married!  uggghhhhhh!!!

Working for Amazon when it was quite new and they were recruiting me to make their logistics that much better to service the world.  Silly me for saying no!

I know that my life wouldn't be what it is today if I was to choose those two different paths - okay - I'd be a world traveller - I'd have had amazing adventures in places that I dream about - meet great people from all over the world - learn so many different types of customs - but - I know I wouldn't have the awesome son that I have now - if I would have chosen those paths - now - I get to look forward to travelling the world and experiencing all the above with my incredible son!

Life truly is rockin!
