LMAO.

Today is just about over, and has been a very good one for me.  It just began storming here, so maybe the heat wave W/we've been having will finally break.

This is what NatGeo said about the origins of fear of Friday the 13th:

Dossey, also a folklore historian and author of Holiday Folklore, Phobias and Fun, said fear of Friday the 13th is rooted in ancient, separate bad-luck associations with the number 13 and the day Friday. The two unlucky entities ultimately combined to make one super unlucky day.

Dossey traces the fear of 13 to a Norse myth about 12 gods having a dinner party at Valhalla, their heaven. In walked the uninvited 13th guest, the mischievous Loki. Once there, Loki arranged for Hoder, the blind god of darkness, to shoot Balder the Beautiful, the god of joy and gladness, with a mistletoe-tipped arrow.

"Balder died and the whole Earth got dark. The whole Earth mourned. It was a bad, unlucky day," said Dossey. From that moment on, the number 13 has been considered ominous and foreboding.

There is also a biblical reference to the unlucky number 13. Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest to the Last Supper.

Meanwhile, in ancient Rome, witches reportedly gathered in groups of 12. The 13th was believed to be the devil.

This fear, known as triskaidekaphobia, has amazing economic effects.

"It's been estimated that [U.S] $800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day because people will not fly or do business they would normally do," said Donald Dossey, founder of the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina.

Meanwhile, i'm loving the 'little Halloween'.  i had fun sending e-cards out to F/friends in 'celebration' of the day.

i didn't even realize it was Friday the 13th. But then it all makes sense now.  i got mean messages, i am horny and now one to play with, my Dom did come over and tweaked my nipples just enough to make my hornyness worse, then left.   Oh waite, that is a normal day!
But on the other hand, i did get to wake up this morning next to my Dominant, i got some really nice messages from male subs (in my town no less) that would like to meet and see what happens, i got invited to a group swingers meeting (though not sure if this is good or bad yet),  i got some messages of support about my mean messages (thank You).  OH, and i didn't get any snail mail, which we all knows means no news is good news!  And my crock pot london broil came out really delish and so tender i didn't need a knife.

Gravy on fries is DELICIOUS.  You don't know what you're missing, and you've obviously never had grits prepared right.  I know it's hard for y'all to get good grits up there.  But instant grits are not REAL grits.  Grits have to simmer for half and hour, then you flavor them with butter, salt and pepper, or cheese, or red-eye gravy.

I like mayonnaise on my frites. Frites mayonnaise = heaven. Strangely, it grosses a lot of people out. Go figure... but I have found the combination in question counteracts the nefarious effects of Friday 13th. Another great excuse to stuff my face  . Yum yum.

My wife is the same way.  It makes it even worse that mayonnaise itself just gags me.  To each their own just don't make me eat it.

I've just got out of 5 months of hell and the 13th was therefore a really good day spent furiously working to catch up. It's changed my fortunes to positive ones..

The worst is behind me roll on the end of the month!

Ugh... mayo does not go on fries... mayo does not go on anything- If anyone tells you that mayo is a great hair treatment, don't fall for it, or your hair will smell like ass for 3 days.

However, Chili goes on fries, and cheese goes on grits. Cheese can also go on fries with the chili if I'm feeling particurally fatassy....

Now I want Cheesy fries. >:(

Mayo only belongs on tuna fish, chicken,  or turkey sandwiches Kitten.  I tried them on fries once.  Yuck.

Halloween is hands down best holiday of the year... I get to dress up and chase small children around like an idiot? Yes please.

LMAO.  Remember 'My Cousin Vinny', slaveboyforyou?

Vinny Gambini: Oh, oh, oh, you tesitfied earlier that you saw the boys go into the store, and you had just begun to cook your breakfast and you were just getting ready to eat when you heard the shot.
Mr. Tipton: That's right.
Vinny Gambini: So obviously it takes you 5 minutes to cook your breakfast.
Mr. Tipton: That's right.
Vinny Gambini: That's right, so you knew that. You remember what you had?
Mr. Tipton: Eggs and grits.
Vinny Gambini: Eggs and grits. I like grits, too. How do you cook your grits? Do you like them regular, creamy or al dente?
Mr. Tipton: Just regular I guess.
Vinny Gambini: Regular. Instant grits?
Mr. Tipton: No self respectin' Southerner uses instant grits. I take pride in my grits.
Vinny Gambini: So, Mr. Tipton, how could it take you 5 minutes to cook your grits when it takes the entire grit eating world 20 minutes?
Mr. Tipton: I don't know, I'm a fast cook I guess.
Vinny Gambini: I'm sorry I was all the way over here I couldn't hear you did you say you were a fast cook, that's it?
Mr. Tipton: Yeah.
Vinny Gambini: Are we to believe that boiling water soaks into a grit faster in your kitchen than anywhere else on the face of the earth?
Mr. Tipton: I don't know.
Vinny Gambini: Well, I guess the laws of physics cease to exist on top of your stove. Were these magic grits? Did you buy them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans?

P.S.  i lived in north Florida for many years and was often offered 'real grits' but never accepted.  They are too funny-looking to eat, IMO,  LOL.
