Here's something for all of you looking for a one-night tryst but don't want to venture further than the public park. It's called "dogging," and it's essentially having sex in a car parked in a public place with other people watching or even joining in.

This pastime originated in the U.K., where it is no less than a craze, but now it's rapidly gaining popularity in the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, and New Zealand.

The name is derived from Peeping Toms who would follow, or "dog," couples hoping to catch them having sex. Then dogging was done in the tube stations late at night. In its most recent incarnation, it's being done in parking lots and parks.

What do you think about that?

I always thought it was called dogging because it's what stray dogs do to have no strings sex with other stray dogs.

I don’t think enough about it, I just assume there is plenty of rough trade floating about.

Ahhhh that brings back many good memories from my wild youth! Here in Canada, it's been a popular way to cruise for anonymous sex in most of the major cities for many years. Moreso for gay and closeted men looking for man to man sex and who get their thrills from public sex! The first married guy I played with introduced me to the pleasures of cruising parking lots late at night, you'd park in a darkened area, roll down the window half way and wait until someone to approach and then would ask if we'd be interested in hooking up. Then we'd either find a secluded spot for a 3 way quickie.

Yeah, I heard of it when I still lived in England, when it was becoming 'popular', in the early noughties. It's brrrrrworthy: couples actually go and do it in their car in special 'dogging' spots so that other people can stick their noses to the windscreen and watch them... very strange form of exhibitionism/voyeurism.

i have not heard of this "dogging" but i have heard of people taking their "slut" out and making them be naked in the back of a car that is parked and waiting for random people who will have sex with that person.

It happens a couple of times a week at least in the small park onto which my apartment overlooks. The area has blocks of flats all around these small parks but as the part of London where I live is rather kinky anyway nobody really bats an eyelid if a few adults are humping each other over a secluded park bench.

Not for me, but I just thought other people might be interested.

It's been around in England since the 1960s - probably prior to that.

It's essentially a bi-product of the swinging scene.

O my...yummmmm.

There's a drive-in theater in my neighborhood which will open soon for the summer. Gotta admit, i've thought about that theater quite a bit.
