Yes, well you can thank the greedy american factory worker for that. Expecting rediculous salaries for labour jobs, outrageously expensive benefits, etc etc etc. They outpriced themselves. I bet those union dues they paid all those years are looking like an excellent investment right now....

And everytime companies do that less and less people in this country can afford their products.
They're canibalising their own markets!
That can only go on for so long before it reaches critical mass and that means a Depression.

Yeah right .... the pontiac Torrent will get replaced by the GMC Terrain which will have be bigger have a larger engine will look totally different than the one shown at the Arab emigrates auto show ..will look more like a scaled down Hummer so much for making a more fuel efficient...they may end some of the big vehicles but where are all the smaller fuel efficient vehicles to replace them??? They have been fools and have not paid attention to changing market conditions, they soaked all their money into large vehicles as the profit margins are a lot larger and are now caught with their pants down around their ankles.... expect to see them release all their new small econo vehicles lineup when the markets are improving years too late after everyone else has already got them on the market. .

I actually thought of buying one for towing a trailer, fishing, hunting, etc but settled on the Eddie Bauer Explorer instead. They were just too impractical and didnt suit my equisite tastes. I am sad to see them go though because they have a number of non-soccermom uses here in Texas - oil and gas, pipeline right of ways, etc... I hope that they come up with something equivelant or make the HMMV available to the commercial / industrial market.

we looked at them. with a large family and wheelchairs or electric scooters to transport it's necessary to have a large vehicle. the hummers are all box and little functionality, they're 5 seaters and not big enough in the interior for all of us and the required crap for a long trip. i drove one, back before i had to quit driving. they visibility out the windows is limited at best. you'd better hope your mirrors are adjusted properly! i liked the fors expedition much better, it's roomier, more functional, better visibility and we got a much beter deal. the gas mileage was better too.

It's not good news around here; the Moraine plant is just south of Dayton. It produced the midsize SUVs.

My first new car in 20 years...a beautiful eggplant Mazda Protege...was virtually destroyed within weeks of purchase by a tiny lil woman driving some big azz SUV...and she nearly killed me in the process by pushing me into oncoming traffic going 60mph.

i have never liked 18 wheelers, trucks, SUVs or anything else i can't see over near me in traffic.
